Thousands of years ago they already knew where to find peace and scenic beauty: Triënte, now known as Drenthe. Discover this splendid region from Hotel & Appartementen Triënte in Buinen. The hotel, a beautiful farmhouse with a sheep pen, lies in a small place at the foot of the Hondsrug. The farmhouse has 8 hotel rooms, each with its own theme. And the renovated sheep pen houses 3 apartments. The sunny private garden boasts old fruit trees and there is a spacious terrace, perfect to descend on and unwind with a drink after a long walk or bike ride. The hotel has a lockable, covered bike shed and offers ample parking.
Surroundings
The surroundings of Hotel & Appartementen Triënte Buinen is ideal for walkers and cyclists. A visit to the Boomkroonpad, where you can walk between the tree tops, is also well worthwhile. The biggest 'hunebed' (megalithic monument) of the Netherlands is located in the nearby village of Borger where you'll also find an information centre about megalithic tombs. Other interesting attractions include the Drents Museum in Assen, the Westerbork Memorial Centre, the museum village of Orvelte, the Veenpark open air museum and the old fortified town of Bourtange. What's more, kids will love Kabouterland in Exloo, Drouwenerzand amusement park or Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen.
