Information about Gronsveld

Gronsveld, near Rijckholt in the South Limburg municipality of Eijsden-Margraten, is a village rich in history and rural charm. It is located on an undulating ridge between the Maas and the German border in the far south of the Netherlands. The local economy is mainly based on agriculture, with a few smaller businesses and shops to meet the needs of the local community.

The village has a long history, dating back to Roman times, as evidenced by its many historic sites, including a medieval church, an old watermill and several historic farms. Gronsveld is also known for its rich traditions, such as the annual carnival and the procession of the patron saint, Saint Martinus. Despite its small size, Gronsveld offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the countryside, without giving up the amenities of the nearby city of Maastricht.
