Hotel In Den Stallen lies just outside of Winschoten, in the peaceful landscape of the East-Groninger area 'Oldambt.' The cosy hotel is located in an old-fashioned Oldambster farmhouse, and therefore combines modern comfort with an authentic atmosphere. The hotel's ten rooms are well maintained and have been comfortably decorated.
In the morning guests can enjoy a good breakfast and in the evening they can have a savory dinner in hotel In Den Stallen's friendly restaurant. On sunny days it is also possible to take a seat on the ideally located outdoor café of the hotel. A bowling alley is one of the hotel's other extra's. The hotel can also welcome small and large conventions.
In the quiet and green environment of the hotel there are of course plenty of opportunities for leisurely activities. The peaceful countryside of the province of Groningen offers many good places for walking or bike-riding. Immediately to the north of Winschoten you may find the 'Blauwestad' (Blue City), a newly established residential and recreational area. The 16th century fortress town Bourtange is also worth visiting. In the old town centre of Winschoten you can go shopping or have a nice drink at an outdoor café. The city of Groningen can also be easily reached by car or public transportation.

Hotel In Den Stallen lies just outside of the built-up area of Winschoten. The surrounding area is perfectly suited for biking or walking. Just to the north of the hotel you may find the 'Oldambtermeer'; a newly established lake that contains the new residential and recreational area the Blauwestad. A visit to the old fortress town of Bourtange is also one of the possibilities, as is a visit to the provincial capital of Groningen, or the harbour of Delfzijl.

This restaurant has an extensive lunch and dinner menu with fish and meat specialities, and offers a varied choice of seasonal dishes. Conveniently located just off the A7 and easy to find. The reception/bar/restaurant area all nicely furnished and the bedrooms are clean and comfortable fitted wiht a good shower. The hotel boasts a ten pin bowling alley to hire and the management are friendly and helpful. All together I can recommend this hotel as a base to explore from.
Shame they didn't have more guests staying during our stay. No in room tea/coffee making facilities. The bar shut a little early being 10pm.
