Surroundings

Frankfurt is a bustling metropolis full of glistening skyscrapers, traditional workers' houses and a lovely old city centre. The best way to admire it is by walking across the 'Eiserner Steg' footbridge to the other side of the river. In addition to contemporary towers and bridges, the city also has a delightful historic city centre boasting churches, museums and tourist attractions. Visit the lively Römerberg square, packed with outdoor terraces, unusual street performers, the historic museum and the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt. And in keeping with all things Christmassy in Germany, there's also a popular annual Christmas market here; with beautifully decorated stalls, festive cheer and the country's largest Christmas tree!
