Gracing the menu are many original Frisian dishes and fresh seafood specialities. The restaurant's celebrated mussel dish is served in summer. Akkrum is now a lively water sports village with excellent attractions including a nice shopping centre and numerous cafés and restaurants. The wonderful historic buildings still testify to times gone by. If you rent a boat through Hotel Restaurant Goerres Akkrum, you can sail the 'Turf Route'; a lovely route that starts in Akkrum. In the neighbouring village of Nes, is a churchyard with an interesting tower, a belfry. This is a wooden tower with a simple roof under which one or more bells are hung. They're often called 'towers of the poor'. Local residents possessed money for a church or stone tower, and in this way it was possible for a bell to be tolled.
The beautiful new waterfront sun lounge is a very suitable and stylish venue for either a celebratory event or a business meeting. Groups of up to 40 persons can be accommodated here, and when combined with the restaurant the total capacity increases to 120 persons.

“Charmining hotel with terrace at water;excellent value for money”
- Very nice location, with nice outside terrace at water front. easy access to Sneker lake (we rented a sloep and parked it outside the hotel). Great food. Very good value for money. We stayed at a pleasant family room that catered for 4. not a large room. but it fitted everybody.
