Lovely room, quiet, good beds, very comfortable. Easy walk to train station and then to center of town.
“My tip: Take a canal cruise Its lots of fun to duck under all the bridges. Make sure you are at the cheese market early (Friday morning) so you can see ”

We only ever stay in the Amrath when in Alkmaar. We are always well looked after, the staff are friendlly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable. We always have a room overlooking the canal and the molten van Piet.
Ran out of bacon for breakfast.
“My tip: We recommend the Ristobar italian restaurant.(laat 117 just up from vroom en dreesman.) ph 0031725113135. Food is superb, all freshly cooked and genuinely Italian.”

We always stay in the amrath when in alkmaar. The staff are extremely nice and helpful and accommodating as we sometimes arrive from a very early flight. (we do notify them in advance) it's a short walk from the train station. It's in a lovely setting with the canal in front and lovely views of the molen van Piet and the kerk (depending on which room you have). Breakfast is very "Dutch". With plenty of choice. I booked the Amrath this time through hotels.nl and found them
None.
“My tip: There is lots to do in alkmaar, something for all ages and tastes. We like the restobar Italian restaurant, and the golden vlies . There are lots of little eateries and it's worth while exploring to find what's just right for you.”

The Amrath Hotel is the ideal place to stay when visiting Alkmaar. Comfortable accommodation, helpful and very pleasant staff. We are always allocated the room we like best . Walking distance to all of Alkmaar's historical and shopping spots. Not far from the train station. We are repeat customers of this hotel and look forward our next stay.
“My tip: If you would like a room overlooking the canal and the Molen Van Piet you would need to book a room at the front of the hotel. ”

Convenient for Alkmaar town centre
1. No food room service 2. No restaurant 3. Hence from 1 and 2: not a 4-star hotel 4. Breakfast room too small for the number of rooms -- no table for 15 minutes on one day. 5. Breakfast buffet very basic for a so-called 4-star hotel.

The hotel provides an exellent standard of service. We find the staff both friendly and helpfull. We always enjoy our stay in the Amrath (Alkmaar) The hotel is in an exellent location and is within walking distance of the railway station, as well as the cultural and shopping areas.
Would prefer if the breakfast was more reasonably priced.

Amrath Hotel ticked all our boxes, comfort, convenience, efficiency, friendly helpful staff, value for money, location. The pictures on the website do not do it enough justice.

Really nice hotel, chosen at random through the Internet. Very handy to the town centre - we walked there
Limited parking, which was at a cost. We ended up parking on the street 100m. away. We arrived on a Saturday, not sure how this would have worked out on a weekday.

This is a lovely hotel very close to the centre of Alkmaar. The rooms are very well presented , ours had a balcony with a very nice view. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good
No food available in the evenings so you have to go into Alkmaar even if you don't feel like it!

The location is excellent - only 2 minutes walk to the old centre of Alkmaar and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is good. I would recommend this hotel and definitely stay here again.
The lighting in the bathroom is too dim - other hotels in the Netherlands have this problem too. It's better to bring your own hairdrier - the one provided isn't very good.

A clean and comfortable business style hotel. 5 mins walk from the centre. Lots of nearby restaurants and bars. Comfy beds, spacious immaculate bathroom.
Front rooms overlook a main road and are quite noisy. Very expensive wi-fi.

We travelled with a 4,5 month old baby. We were allowed to check in a bit earlier and the baby could settle in after 36 hrs of travel. Very friendly staff, great service, fantastic breakfast, good cleaning personel. Nice rooms, close to centre of town and station. Nice hotel bar. Very pleased with this hotel and we will come back here when we travel to Alkmaar again.
No Wi-Fi available in hotel room, only broadband that you have to plug in. We traveled with Ipod which can only use Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi available in hotel bar tho, so good excuse for a nice drink in the evening.

Quiet room at rear of hotel. Room pleasant but outlook awful. Everything very clean.
15 Euro for parking seemed excessive bearing in mind that there was nowhere else to park.

The room was very lovely and the location was perfect.

Very good except
I had room 310 and on the second day of my stay i.e. I opened the drawer to find an empty bottle of lickor + 2 full glasses. Leaving the drawer open, I wrote a short note drawing attention to this but nothing was done
