Golden Tulip Hotel Alkmaar is located on the edge of Alkmaar, near the A9 and within walking distance of the city center. Our reception is open 24/7 with an atmospheric lobby. The hotel offers a fitness room. There is also ample free parking in front of the hotel and the possibility to rent bikes at the reception.
The room selection of the Golden Tulip Hotel Alkmaar consists of Comfort, Comfort Plus, Superior rooms and Junior Suites, equipped with all conveniences including a 50'' inch TV. All rooms are accessible by elevator.

Surroundings
The center of Alkmaar is not only known for the cheese market, but also for the beautiful old buildings and canals with a rich history. The shopping streets and small boutiques should definitely not be missed either. On the cosy Waagplein, the center of the city, you can visit the Cheese Museum and the terraces. The Golden Tulip Hotel Alkmaar is 2 km from the center and is easily accessible. The beaches of Egmond and Bergen aan zee are less than 10 km from the hotel, from Alkmaar there are beautiful cycling routes along the coastal towns. Amsterdam can be reached in 35 minutes. Alkmaar and its surroundings offer something for everyone.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were so impressed with their service.
The hotel was new, clean, and comfy and we'd highly recommend it.
We were planning on staying 2 days in Amsterdam while connecting on an overseas trip but there was a big international conference and all the hotels inside the city were fully booked so we ended up booking in Alkmaar instead and we were so happy we did. We hotel price was much less and we really enjoyed the Alkmaar city itself too. The bus stops right in front of the hotel and takes you to the train station where you can go to Amsterdam so it was pretty convenient as well. We'd highly recommend this location for people looking to spend a few days in Holland and see both Amsterdam and a nice small city at the same time.
Weekend nights were a bit noisy because of the restaurant on the side of the hotel

The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and very spacious. It is in a good location for old Alkmaar, bisiness districts and football.
Wifi connection is weak in corner rooms but reasonable in price.
There are not enough options for meals in the hotel. The adjoining Wok restaurant didn't have a single menu in English!
It is difficult to get a meal after 10.30 in the evening. We took a triple room and found there was not enough wardrobe space for 3 people.
