The City hotel is established in a 18th century building, just a stone?s throw away from the central train station, which makes it very easily accessible. If you are in front of the station, turn left and follow the 'Prins Hendrikkade' to number 130. The friendly staff of this hospitable hotel will welcome you and will be happy to help you plan your sightseeing tours. Free tourist maps and guides are also available at the reception. Because the hotel is open all night, there is no curfew. All rooms are equipped with a shower and toilet, television and telephone.
The hotel has a bar that is open until 01:00 h. The continental breakfast is served from 08:00 to 10:00 h. The City Hotel does not have a restaurant, but in the surroundings there is a wide variety of restaurants and beaneries were you can have lunch or diner.
It is only a few minutes walk from the hotel to 'Dam' square, were the National Monument, Royal Palace, Madame Tussauds, the 'Kalverstraat' and the shopping mall Magna Plaza can be found. The famous Red Light District is also close by.
An alternative cancellation policy applies to bookings of 5 rooms or more.

TimW- Fantastic location. Friendly staff. 5 person room fulfilled our needs perfectly - 3 full size single beds on the \'ground floor\', and a double bed mezzanine, above. The room was clean, and the bed sheets / towels replaced daily. It was absolute bargain, especially given the stunning views over the river.
- Be warned that the stairs in this hotel are very very steep - we were looking for the abseil ropes on the way down, and the asthma inhaler on the way up! The bathroom left a little to be desired, but at around £20 per person per night, you can\'t complain.

Davin Mullan- The hotel is a budget 2* family hotel which is open 24 hours and all rooms are en-suite. It is located only about 5 minutes walk from Central Station and the famous Red Light District. It is very good value for money as breakfast and city tax is included in the price. The staff are very friendly and the beds are made daily and towels changed daily.
- Just as every other hotel in Amsterdam, there is a lot of steep stairs, which can be difficult if you have a lot of luggage to carry upstairs, as there no is lift. I will definately be staying at this hotel again.

“Value for Money Three Star”
- Proximity to Central Station. This is my third year opting to stay here. Price and location are a consideration as my requirement is just to have a comfortable place to sleep. I require no other service from the hotel other than WiFi and good coffee, both of which they have
- I doubt there is any issue with this hotel that has not been addressed. Perhaps a little more regular attention to the communal single toilet at ground floor level would be advisable.

- Cleanliness of the hotel is a major top breakfast - good for the price and hotel location.
- Air conditioning - missing, and during the day, the heat was unbarable change of room - i have received a different room with 3 small beds in the attick where the ceiling was very low Floor 3 and 4 (there s à room in the attick serving as 4th floor) do not have elevator and the stairs are very small and dangerous and can ne a real hasle if you have large suitcases

“Brilliant hotel”
- Location is brilliant local to all shops and train station. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. Nice view from the rooms, walk in shower
- Only thing I would say is the mattress in the double rooms are not one mattress they are two singles pushed together so they do come apart at night other than that it was lovely room with tele hair dryer all you could need

- The rooms are small but are very beautifully renovated and practical. The hotel staff is very nice and courteous, and the location is good, 5 minutes walking from central station, less than 10 minutes from Dam square. Breakfast is good for the price and the hotel, although on a Main Street is very quite
- There is no wifi connection in te rooms. There is free wifi in he lobby but nowadays this is not enough
