Dam Hotel Amsterdam

Hotel details:

In the Dam Hotel you stay in the heart of Amsterdam, between the central train station and the Dam square. From the station you can easy reach other parts of the city by train, bus, tram and metro. Near the hotel are popular shopping streets and places of interest such as Madame Tussauds, the Red Light District and the Anne Frank House. The hotel rooms offer a shower and toilet, television and a safe. In the near vicinity there are several restaurants where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The hotel does not offer breakfast, and it does not have a bar or restaurant. You will however find nice restaurants in the Jordaan district, which is within walking distance. Along the Spuistraat and at the Rembrandtplein there are also many places where you can have dinner or a drink.

The central location of the Dam Hotel is perfect if you would like to stay near the most important tourist sights. Around the Dam square are the shops of the Kalverstraat and Magna Plaza. Here you can also admire the royal palace Koninklijk Paleis and the Nieuwe Kerk church, which regularly hosts exhibitions. At the Central Station you can hop on board of a canal boat cruise.

- A different cancellation policy applies for bookings of 5 rooms or more.
- The hotel consists of two buildings (numbers 31 and 32). The reception is located on the second floor of Damrak 32; this building does not have a lift. The rooms are located in Damrak 31, which does have a lift.
- If a non-refundable rate is booked, the credit card used for booking must be shown upon check-in.

“Could be excellent for a grave rather than a hotel room ”
  • Only location
  • Room is very small Bed is extremely uncoomfortable Very cold with a bad unlocked small window that kept the room very cold all the night Bad isolation between room No enough light Very expensive for what it is

“Mixed bag”
  • The second room I was moved too was quiter and therefore much better than the first. Nice receptionists.
  • Room 101 is terrible - almost impossible to sleep, the window is not sound proof, the mattress is too soft, the curtains don't screen out the light. Not enough blankets. A kettle in the room and tea making facilitires would be welcome

Unhappy Customer
“Cheap But Disappointing”
  • The plus is that it's a cheap-ish place to crash in the center of the busy part of Amsterdam
  • They gave us a single with two tiny beds in it and called it a double. The room looked absolutely nothing like the picture provided. Multiple times, when buzzing to get in (you have to buzz to get into the building), there was no door man to let us in, so we had to wait.

“They gave us the rooms in the Orange Tulip hotel that is very bad”
  • Location
  • Service. Be careful with the Dam Hotel because there are 2 hotels and they gave us the room in the adjacent hotel that is awful (no elevator, we had no keys in the whole stay and they even asked for a fee for the keys...).

KHALFON Victor
“never again!”
  • middle of town
  • rooms are very very small; 4 stars prices for 1 star hotel! no services at all, no breakfast. the worst hotel in these last 10 years!!

“Don't go to this hotel, you will spare money. Dirty and noisy.”
  • no one and I\'m objectiv! It\'s a shame for the city of Amsterdam to have such a slum on the list of the hotel. Nor fare from the train station and the place of Dam were the only positifs things.
  • Dirty, without any norms for zelctricity( or Ntehterland are under.... a light just over the shower, a switch not isolated in the shower....) Noisy, I heard the radio of a neibourg allthe nignt, wholes on the wall, ...I could hardly have give for such a place more then five euros. That was 75 euros for a corridor with what tey called a bed. the photo of the web side is really not the reality. Dirtiness of the steps and the entrance, along a pizzerai and an another cafe show immediatly the reality. But I hazd booked unfortunatly and paid with my visa. we have control in Belgium; it doesn\'t seem the case in nederlands.
