“Close to everything”
  • Location fine at Amstel, comfortable beds, fast check-in and out
  • Bathroom quite small; the opaque glass door may be stylish, but for toilet door not the most comfortable option. We were not expecting any Canal view, but the narrow "tunnel" sight from the window was quite "interesting". Better use stairs than the record slow lift (actually we found a faster lift on the second day ;).

  • Very good location with easy access to many of the attractions and areas.
  • Breakfast was not included in the price, nor were there any tea coffee facilities in the rooms.

“Weekend in Amsterdam”
  • Within walking distance of all attractions, clean friendly hotel in a great location with sensible check-in/out facilities.
  • Room standards vary a lot, second lift is often out of order.

“Excellent Mid-Range Option Close to Centrum”
  • Friendly staff, comfortable beds, good-sized rooms.
  • Internet was for a fee in-room, but free in the lobby -- should just have free internet overall.

“Interesting trip the Amsterdam”
  • both hotels were great, but
  • When Eden Amsterdam moved our rooms, by request to the American,( they said you were a group and are business connected) We were placed on the 6 th floor (top floor)where the air handlers were on the roof. The resonating noise was so resonating, I could not sleep at all. I believe they knew this, and our bed location had all the resounding noise. The Air handlers stayed on till 2:00 AM, went off for 30 minutes and came back on till the morning. I am and electrical controls person who is very familiar with the air handlers. They are driven by a variable speed motor, and i heard the speed changes all night. Sound like a small airplane taking off. I was down to the fromt desk 4 times that night, and at 6:00 AM, we were moved to a room on the 5th floor. the room was much smaller, and 40 euros higher for that night.(but was nice) I was very suprised that we did not have better compensation than a free breakfast. The sad part is that I talked to the servers at breakfast about the noise on the 6th floor, and if they knew about it, then management knew. We had reservations for 8 in the hotel restaurant that night with the Whitkamps, from Amsterdam, but due to these circumstances I felt obligated to cancel. Your personnel shoul have a little more leadway for a more correct compensation. I hope someone reads this and responds,. We did spend a fair amount of money at both hotels, for we had 2 rooms at both Hotels, and ate dinner in the first hotel. Thank you. I recommend the Hotel, but never, never stay on the 6th floor.

  • Location is the best point of the hotel.
  • Room 106 was very dark, during the night the temperature was very high, and the bathroom smell a lot. This is not a comfortable room for three people. We didn\'t enjoy our stay in room 106, it wasnt a room im wich you wanted to stay for rest.

“Great location with many café clubs in walking distance”
  • Quick and friendly service at the reception. Great breakfast choices.
  • We were told at the reception that breakfast was not included in the price and we were asked to pay extra for that if we needed it. Quite the contrary to the information received on purchase. Too few free tv channels.

“Good value for money in a vibrant city.”
  • Good location, friendly staff and stylish decor.
  • Beds not the most comfortable, bar not open and very expensive to park.

“Small, cramped and over priced”
  • Concierge was excellent and did his job quite well
  • Hotel is divided into a 3 and 4 star hotel, due to this the 3 star side would not get room service which personally i think its a joke. Room was beyond small a bit cramped if you ask me, so small that as you enter the room the door hit the side of the bed. Everyone was sat in reception with ipads and laptops as the Wifi doesnt seem to work in rooms. You have to pay 30 Euros extra to get a view of the dam.

“Ideal location and great quality.”
  • Great service. Very nice location and the quality was very high. This was my second visit to this hotel. The beds were extremely comfy and the staff were very helpful, polite and friendly.
  • Our shower was poor and you had to hold it as you bathed. The bathroom door is also frosted so you can still see another person through it so it's not ideal. Other than that very happy.

  • Studio rooms slightly shabby - need upgrading.

“far to expensive, I have stayed in better holiday inns”
  • It was clean, There is nothing no other good points about your hotel.
  • Far to expensive, no double bed two single beds pushed together no kettle no window to open in the room because I only paid for standard. For £520 for three nights I can get a better standard in London with breakfast

“*Awesome* hotel~ but why you no give us internet?”
  • They were so helpful, great location, super comfortable bed, really nice big new shower~ I had a great stay.
  • The concierge was helpful, when you could find him~ one man was doing a lot of work for a lot of people... for these prices they could afford a second person! Checking luggage in, getting a cab, renting out bikes, etc. etc. It was too much for one guy. -The only other minus was that internet isn't free in the rooms! Maybe that's normal for amsterdam, but not at all in the states, at least. Also the movies were all like 12 euro, which is fine, but it took me being really bored one morning to figure out the TV is free~ they should advertise that better because I thought everything was charged for. But one day of free movies and internet is like 22 euro, so everybody had their laptops in the lobby, where the internet is free.
