Hotel de Gerstekorrel Amsterdam is situated in the Damstraat. Amsterdam's renowned attractions are easy to reach from here. The Dam Square is only 50 metres away, and Amsterdam Central Station, the Red Light District, the Kalverstraat shopping street and the Nieuwendijk are just a few minutes walk away. You simply won't find a better location. The hotel is known for its excellent service. The reception staff are multilingual and will be happy to assist you with tourist information or bike hire.

The takeaway breakfast, if included in your reservation, is served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and includes a selection of muffins and a smoothie, and coffee or tea.

You will find countless opportunities to help fill your day in the direct vicinity of the hotel. - The hotel has a steep staircase and does not have a lift. As such, it is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties.

“Fantastic”

The rooms looked exactly how they were shown online, the beds were extremely comfortable and the service was great.
If you have a heavy suitcase hope your not on the top floor, there is no lift and a lot of steps but apart from that it was great

The location was great, we stayed in a room on the first floor, exactly what I expected from the pictures and what we knew before we went there. The staff is super friendly.
nothing negative in my opinion. We had what we paid for.

“Clean, Comfy, Centrally Located Hotel with Friendly, Helpful Staff!”

The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Each member of the staff was very kind and helpful, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and find our way around the city. The location was right in dam square, a very close walk from centraal station, it was easy to get everyone on foot or by tram.
It was slightly more than we wanted to pay but we did love the hotel and the staff and location were great.

“Convenient but very basic”

It is very conveniently located.
The bathroom is so small that it was difficult to keep my clothes dry when I take a shower. The furniture in the room was quite basic and really much used. The carpet needed changing or at least a good clean.

The location was excellent! The reception staff were friendly, professional and very helpful. The hotel was well maintained and serviced regularly. All in all, our room was just right.
Street side noise - not unbearable, but present. Steps might be a problem for someone with mobility issues - not horrible for Amsterdam, but certainly something to consider.

the hotel is right in the heart of amsterdam right beside dam square,(about 5 mins walk from the red light area) i would recommend it to anyone, the hotel is very clean and warm and the hotel staff were very helpfull./ friendly..the room was cleaned every day and was spotless.. i would like to thank every-one at the hotel very much for making our stay brill.... good luck
prob, the only bad point i could nit pick about was the stairs (no lift). not for the older person or any one with a phys, ailement..
