Hotel Pension Homeland was established in an old officers' mess on the former naval terrain in central Amsterdam. Amsterdam's city centre, central station and the Museumplein (Museum Square) are easy to reach from the hotel. The pensionl has its very own brewery and a boat that is used for tours along the river IJ as well as the famous canals.

The à la carte breakfast is served daily in the pension's restaurant. Lunch and dinner are also available here, and you can visit the bar for a drink or a small bite to eat.

Hotel Pension Homeland is located in the former naval terrain on the 'stadseiland' ('city island') Kattenburg. This terrain was first used by the Dutch Royal Navy in 1655. A magnificent 17th-century gateway takes you back to this period. The hotel is ideally located, with both the National Maritime Museum (Scheepvaartmuseum) and the Nemo Science Center at walking distance. The same goes for the enjoyable squares Nieuwmarkt and Waterlooplein. Other highlights can be found slightly further on, such as the ring of canals, the Royal Palace (Paleis op de Dam), and the Rijksmuseum.
