Hotel Parklane Amsterdam

Hotel details:

Hotel Parklane Amsterdam is located in a townhouse on the Plantage Parklaan. An area of historical interest. No two rooms in this characteristic 19th century building are the same. The rooms are spacious and clean, and you'll certainly feel at home in this charming and intimate hotel.

A breakfast buffet is available daily in the stately breakfast area between 08:00 and 10:00. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but you'll find plenty of places to eat in the Plantagebuurt area.

Hotel Parklane is next to the Wertheimpark and near the Jewish Historical Museum, the Maritime Museum and the Resistance Museum. The Hermitage Museum and the Tropenmuseum aren't far from the hotel either, not to mention the botanical garden Hortus Botanicus and Artis Zoo. The centre is easy to reach by tram, and is packed with shops and interesting sights.

Danny
“Good and reasonable priced hotel”
  • Only about 15 minutes walk into city centre. Quiet area across a nice park. Central Station is close by. One of the rooms had some bugs (bees or musquito s). However the hotel gave him an upgrade to double room and took care of the flying objects.
  • none, had a good stay.

“No real value for money”
  • -friendly enough staff -good free internet connection
  • -unfortunately the value for money is just not there. I've been in Amsterdam a few times and I thought I was treating myself spending 100 quid a night for a single, but I ended up with little problems that hadn't actually occured to me in slightly cheaper places - i.e. curtains not closing properly, bed average at best, incomplete shower door leading to water all over the bathroom...nothing to go insane about, but little things that made me feel like I had paid a little too much.

“Quiet hotel”
  • Quiet hotel within walking distance of the centre, nice location opposite a park and near the metro as well as being only a few minute walk to the Zoo. I would stay there again.
  • If your elderly be aware the stairs are steep up to the room. It also is not a 4 star hotel so do not expect luxury and there is no air conditoning although you can open the window.

“Comfortable and inexpensive, on the edge of the city center”
  • I stayed in the least expensive room in the hotel and it was charming and comfortable. Good wireless Internet access. Very helpful staff. A short walk to everything I wanted to see, and convenient to trams/metro if I was in a hurry. Quiet, residential surroundings.

“Good value, great location”
  • Very quiet location, close to tram stop (tram 9 stop at Artis Zoo) helpful staff. Reach city center by tram in less than 10 minutes or can walk. Breakfast was ok nothing spectacular. Room was very spacious and comfortable. No problems would stay here again.
  • Typical Amsterdam stairs!

“prachtig gelegen hotel met goede faciliteiten”
  • mooie kamer met goede bedden. mooie douche-gelegenheid
  • andere gasten die \'s nachts binnenwamen maakten zoveel en zolang lawaai dat we ruim een uur wakker zijn geweest. misschien goed om bij inchecken te zeggen dat ten alleen tijden binnengekomen kan worden maar na ca 10.00 uur alleen fluisterend en zacht met deuren e.d.

“Highly recommend”
  • Spent four nights here, beginning of October. The hotel is in a very quiet area, in Plantage. Two tram stations are right around the corner, an Albert Heijn grocery store maybe 5 minutes walk away, a small park is right across the street. Quiet, safe and clean. We arrived at the hotel at 7am, after an overnight flight from Canada. The person who handled out check-in was so nice and friendly! We left our baggages in the breakfast room, and went out for a few hours, while our room was being cleaned. We got the room earlier then the regular check-in time. Breakfast was always nice, mainly cold cuts, boiled eggs and bread, mustard, orange juice, tea, coffee, jam, peanut butter, nuttella. Enough of everything and very filling. The room was backing into an interior courtyard, so it was always very quiet. We had to catch an early flight to return home, and had the surprise to discover that at 6 in the morning the whole city is still sleeping. We waited the tram for about 20 minutes, and nothing else was moving. A car here and there, a few people on their bikes. This surprised us, being used to the crazy traffic in Toronto, starting at 5am. We were freaking out, thinking we\'ll miss our flight, when a car drove by, saw us, then stopped at the corner. The driver then proceeded to install the \"Taxi\" sign on the roof of the car, then turned around and picked us up! We made it to Centraal Station in no time, and it was all thanks to this good samaritan who later confessed he didn\'t have any intention of starting his shift so early, but changed his mind when he saw us in the middle of the street with our luggages. He figured we needed help! Wow. Overall, a great place! I would definitely, absolutely return to this hotel and will recommend it to all my friends.
  • One little thing - we didn\'t bring a hairdryer, and there wasn\'t one available in the room.
