Hotel Princess Amsterdam enjoys a convenient central location on the Overtoom. This comfortable budget hotel has 20 cosy rooms with shared shower and toilet facilities on each floor. The hotel also has a number of triple and quad rooms that are equipped with bunk beds. The reception staff will also gladly help you with booking excursions and Amsterdam boat tours.

The hotel does not serve breakfast. You'll find many eating and drinking establishments nearby, including a coffee shop below the hotel and a supermarket, fishmongers and restaurant in the direct vicinity.The hotel lounge features a mural depicting a typical Dutch winter scene, as well as several reproductions of famous Dutch masters. The lounge offers a view of the 1e Constantijn Huygensstraat and the Overtoom.

“Good quality for quite a cheap hotel.”

The location was perfect for me; not noisy because it wasn't right in the middle in the centre above some bar like the most hostels/dorm rooms, but it was still very near Leidseplein. In about a 5 minute walk you're there. I also liked the fact that you could get a free (yet very simple, but what else do you expect for this price ;)) breakfast every morning. Also the bathroom was surprisingly clean. The dark man at the reception was really friendly and helpful too.
The things I didn't like was that I asked for a towel the first morning, asked for a new one the next morning and got the answer that I had to use the one from the day before. Also the cleaning guy was really unfriendly. I was in the room, blowdrying my hair when he came in and instead of cleaning another room first, he started vacuum cleaning around me (seriously!), which was actually really hilarious.

“Decent for the price but a bit extra spent elsewhere might be better”

Good showers, comfortable bunk beds (long enough too, I'm 6'4), location is good (close to Leidesplein, Museumsplein, and Vondelpark, Albert Heijn supermarket just down the street)
Lockers in rooms are a joke, I was able to open 3 out of 4 with my key when I found the one I had been assigned already had stuff in it. Bizarre toilet, one for the whole floor as far as I could tell and basically in a closet - required some gymnastics. Staff were OK, but obviously just a place for them to clock-in/clock-out and wait for the paycheck; in fairness for €15 per night I had pretty low expectations.

Location is great Showers and toilets in hall, but excellent and alwalys available Reception was positive Sink in room Modern windows Complementary wifi good
Smallest room ever No closet No lift: 3 story walkup on narrowest possible steps...colorful! Breakfast for 4 days was only bread cheese & coldcuts; no eggs or fruit

Everything was just great. Perfect location, friendly staff, good breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!
Small rooms, but we were just sleeping there, so... no minus points, really...

“A comfortable budget hotel”

The hotel is in close proximity to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum and a 5-10 min walk from the lively theatre square. It is clean and comfortable for its very low price
It's a pretty long walk from Centraal Station to the hotel, maybe half an hour without cases to carry. The walls are quite thin and the street outside, Overtoom is busy with trams well into the night and early in the morning.

“Better cancelation policy needed.”

Friendly staff and complimentary breakfast.
My flight was canceled due to bad weather so I had to pay the first night's rate and the second night for a total of 80+ euros which is far over my budget. I had to pay anyways because I canceled after the 48-hour deadline (but before then I wouldn't know the flight cancelation). I hope the cancelation policy would be less strict towards cancelations due to act of god.

“If you want cheap and dont mind being treated like crap this is for u!”

Cheap with free wireless and breakfast.
Only one member of staff was friendly and helpful. all the others were down right rude - i work in the business and this really bothers me. The guy on reception didn't even stop talking on the phone for one minute when i went to make an inquiry, He just nodded at me to speak and carried on what he was doing.
