“Only for the young and strong, very mediocre property”
  • locations is all this place has going for it, other than cheap room. Problem is as always you get what you pay for. Service was average at best, surly at worst.
  • room was cold never higher than 60 F. 17 F in January 2013. Bathroom radiator did not work at all, the window did not close properly so the BathRoom was maybe 50 degrees. Unacceptable, and not even close to 3 stars. THe staff cleaning rooms started early and made a great deal of noise. Slamming doors, talking at the top of their lungs. When I left the room in the am and retuned a few hours later the room was never cleaned for 3 nights I was there. If you can stand some discomfort and roughin

“Good location but a tired and not very clean hotel”
  • Breakfast was an extra, although good food. Location, if you have a room overlooking the canal, is good. Staff willing and obliging
  • Room decoration was tired and dirty, although bathroom clean(as long as you did not run your finger along edges) Sheets clean, towels not very clean. dirty damaged paint work and walls, edges of carpet never cleaned. Not good value for the price. Having prepaid the room being asked for a deposit of 50 Euros seemed unecessary. Taxi deal - give the hotel 10 Euros for the taxi to take you to the station and the taxi will give you three euros change - who is kidding who? Extra to be paid if you

“Look for another hotel.”
  • The hotel is in a great location for seeing the sights in Amsterdam.
  • WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for the quality of hotel. We paid $1300 for 2 days, when it should have cost no more than $300 for the room. Very run down. Stained walls, peeling wallpaper, no shower in our room.

“Cant fault price and location, good hotel.”
  • Located on a quiet canal street, about 5 mins walk from behind the palace, close enough to everything, but far enough to get away from it all come bedtime!
  • None really, this is totally what i'd expect paying these prices and this time of year, nothing fancy, does the job well.

“Enjoyable stay but would have expected more for the money.”
  • Good location for seeing the sights. Our room overlooked the canal and was a good size with a writing desk and a small table. There is a lift after you reach the first floor reception.
  • Breakfast not included in the rate. Common areas a bit old and tired. Street noise was a nuisance at night as there is no double glazing - all the other hotels we stayed at in Europe, even much cheaper hotels, had double glazing.

“Good place, but bad hotel”
  • good place in the city center
  • VERY hot room, that could not be cooled down. No air conditioning - i.e. difficult sleeping. UNACCEPTABLE for a 3 star hotel.

“Nice hotel but the ventilation must be improved”
  • Serviceminded staff
  • Bad ventilation. The room was very hot and havy air and the vindows facing the canal was not able to open.
