With its central location on the Thorbeckeplein, next to the Rembrandtplein, the Thorbecke Hotel is within walking distance of many of Amsterdam's tourist attractions. It is established above a bar in the nightlife area of the Rembrandtplein, surrounded by numerous cafés, restaurants and clubs. In the vicinity there are also many shops, several museums and beautiful monuments. Amsterdam Central Station and the Red Light District can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes or by tram within 5 minutes.

The breakfast is served daily from 08:00 to 10:00 h. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but in the hotel's direct surroundings there are many dining facilities to be found, especially on the nearby 'Rembrandtplein'.

“Amazing Location, Rooms need updating though.”

It was right in the middle of the city of Amsterdam. When you walk out, you re in the middle of the square and it s near the tram stop of 4, 9 and 14. And these trams take you almost everywhere. A further walk down and you can head to the Flower Market or the shopping district. About 15 min walk towards the Red Light and 20 min walk to Amsterdam Centraal. I think the location just really made up for everything else in the hotel.
The place was a little outdated and dirty, but still survivable.

“Money thrown away”

Close to city center and the location I needed to be during the day.
Mouse in the breakfast room. When telling someone of the hotel shoulders where lifted and said Yeah, we know. It s an old place. Even in an old place you can prevent having mice. A lot of fungus spots in the bathroom. Broken laminate. Almost needed a wrench to operate the shower faucet. Loud music from the surrounding nightlife. The whole room looked dirty.

Positive was the money back that hotel returned after my unsatisfaction with the hotel.
The hotel ia very untidy everywhere including rooms. For those who come to Amsterdam for a disco and crazy stuff, the location is very good otherwise it s very expensive for that conditions. Very unreccommended for families

“fair price for location but not for the quality of hotel. ”

convenient location where nears the center. fair price with breakfast with toasts and coffee and juice.
1. hotel is located in bar street. very annoy when you try to get some sleep at the night. 2. very small room, can barely walk. 3. bathroom with less shampoo left and few drops of hand soap. 4. bed quilt is not clean.

“Weekend at Thorbecke”

really central, basic accomodation but didn't expect anything more, got a room as far away form the noise as possible, hot water, TV, clean towels daily, can't complain.
Was right above a club and could hear the music through the night, didn;t change the sheet's while we were there, although we did get fresh towels daily, although one day they were obvioulsy running short as we were only given hand towels to shower with! Breakfast was a massive let down too, just toast and preserves, could of done with some bacon or eggs, but again didn't expect any different

“Clean, pleasant staff great location”

Very near to all locations nice pleasant staff, really enjoyed this Hotel. Nice warm rooms as weather was very cold overall an enjoyable stay.
Can be noisy due to Disco but the back rooms are not to bad. Would love to see some renovations as Hotel needs some improvement in rooms. Breakfast could be a little bit better more options etc.

“Budget hotel with great location”

Great location less than 10 mins walk to dam sq and leidesplein, bars,restaurants and coffee shops on your doorstep.
Hotel is above a very busy nightclub that runs until 5am so can be very noisy. Very steep stairs to get up to your room and very thin walls so can hear everyone's conversation. We stayed in an en-suite twin room that was more than enough space however if travelling in a three some of the rooms look pretty tight.
