Hotel Papendal Arnhem is definitely to be recommended for experienced golfers, as the Pitch and Putt Golf golf course is located right next to the hotel. De Hoge Veluwe National Park is an area of 13,500 acres of woods, heaths and meres. The park also houses an Open Air Museum and the Kröller-Müller Museum, with its sculpture garden and collection of Van Gogh paintings. The historic city of Arnhem offers a wide range of sights as well as great shops, restaurants and nightlife venues.
Food and Drink
An extensive continental breakfast buffet including fresh bread and fruit is served Monday to Friday from 07:00 until 10:00, on Saturday from 07:00 until 10:30, and on Sunday from 07:00 until 12:00. During your stay you are recommended to visit the modern and attractive Restaurant 20 28. The menu offers a 3-course dinner featuring fresh, tasty and healthy dishes. Some dishes have been created for sharing with your table companion, the restaurant calls these dishes 'healthy and sharing'. The Dug Out bar serves a good cup of coffee, drinks and dishes from a select menu. The sunny outdoor terrace is open during warm weather. Enjoy the great atmosphere and the magnificent view.

Modern and comfortable hotel! Nice reception wih polite and helpsome receptionists. Hotel built with thoughts on the enviroment. Great room! Great breakfast! Price considering our room not bad in my opinion.
Transportation. Have to pay 20-25€ for taxi from Arnhem. Nearest bus is a 15 minutes walk. Troublesome bus times, latest bus leaves Arnhem 22.30, earliest bus arrives 9.30.

Nice location, ideal for biking, friendly staff.
Rooms very hot, no air conditioning. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Could be noisy with cars arriving late at night, limited selection of bar meals.

The restaurant is nice.
no sink with the toilet, so you cannot wash your hands right after using the toilet.
The sink was just nearby where you sleep - it's noicy when someone wants to sleep. As well as the shower, also nearby the beds.

The location of the hotel, in the countryside, makes it to be very quiet and silent. Ideal for rest.

absence of wifi in the rooms, small capacity of the kitchen for big capacity of the restaurant, lack of information about the offer in the restaurant, non proenviromental attitude - also towels hanged on the rail are changed

We really liked the hotel, the location is very nice. The breakfast buffet was really good
the only minus point is that there was no mini fridge in the rooms. It was only available in the suites. Another thing is that there were no shampoos provided in the bathroom the first day we arrived

Well-located for entrance to the Veluwe Park. First-rate room at a decent price. Breakfast was quite good.
The worst coffee in the Netherlands. Automated coffee machines do not make good coffee (niet het Hollands manier). Surprisingly, reception personnel were not knowledgable about the Veluwe Park. But these are minor points, and we would gladly return again.

Hotel very clean, superb location. Everyone speaks English!!-well done. Pluses far outweigh the minuses.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom-is this a British thing? Would have loved to make a cup of tea after a six hour car journey. Room 112 had marks on the wall next to the bed nearest the bathroom which need painting, but this is only a minor complaint.
