An American-style breakfast buffet is available in the sun lounge on Monday to Saturday from 07:00 until 10:00, and on Sunday from 07:30 until 10:30. At De Schildkamp we always want to create an expectation +1. Also gastronomic. In our cozy Dirk brasserie you can enjoy local products that our chef Ivan de Bruijn transforms into the most delicious dishes. On our menu you will find meat dishes, but also many vegetarian and vegan dishes. Almost all ingredients come directly from the neighborhood. We believe it is important to be part of the local community. That is why you will see many photos from the history of Asperen and its surroundings in our brasserie. You can also read about our namesake, Dirk Willemsz. A special person who considered others more important than himself and who made authentic choices in his life. With this in mind, we also want to serve our guests.

Brasserie Dirk is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Lunch is possible between 12:00-15:30 and dinner is possible between 17:30-21:00. On Sundays you can dine until 20:00.

Hotel de Schildkamp lies in Asperen (near Leerdam), a place along the river Linge in Gelderland. On the other side of the river you'll find Leerdam; its Glass Museum is well worth a visit. Cultural events are regularly organised in Fort Asperen, which forms part of a strip of land flooded as a defence line.

- Fitness club de Schildkamp is accessible with a ticket, these are available at the reception. The fitness club is open Monday to Thursday from 07:00-22:30, Friday from 07:00-21:30 and Saturday & Sunday from 09:00-17:00.
- The swimming pool is open and accessible to hotel guests from Monday to Friday and on Sunday. The swimming pool is closed on all Saturdays and public holidays. Please contact the hotel reception for opening times.
