Besides the Vaart, with its beautiful boats, and the shopping centres 'Forum' and 'Mercurius', Assen is well-known for its Drents Museum and TT Circuit. What's more, there is also plenty to see and do in the surroundings.
In nearby Exloo, you can enjoy seeing the heaths and the village's well-known flock of sheep. A poignant place to visit is the former concentration camp of Westerbork, just 15 minutes from the hotel. Veenhuizen Prison Museum isn't far away either. And the vibrant university town of Groningen is just a 20-minute drive away.

There is plenty to do in the vicinity of De Bonte Wever. It's a 20-minute walk to the cosy town centre of Assen, and the TT Circuit is just around the corner. A 30-minute drive will take you to Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen, where you where you can admire animals from close-up.
