A very nice hotel with excellent staff

The hotel is extremely well placed close to the newly modernised train station - it boasts excellent staff who are always very friendly and helpful. A short walk from the park and the town centre.

“My tip: Breda town centre has many fine restaurants, cafes and bars and an excellent choice of retail stores. A very attractive town with some fine historical buildings within easy walking distance”

    Great hotel

I booked this hotel because it was close to the railway station, just one minute walk. Very good service from the staff and bar restaurant. Overall great hotel

Well as it was close to the railway station you get trains passing by...

“My tip: Restaurant and bar was great”

    Great Stay in Breda

This hotel was wonderful. It was right next to the train station, which made travel very easy. It was a short walk to the city center, which was nice as it was quite and cozier than other places I have visited. The breakfast was phenomenal, and the staff was amazing. I look forward to visiting this hotel again in the future.

Nice rooms, very good breakfast. And you can have this breakfast until noon which is convenient if you have a night out like we did. Friendly staff. Paid parking was not convenient for us (because you pay untill noon and after that you have to pay again) but staff directed us friendly to other places. Very helpfull with directions.

Location is very central but because of the building of a new railwaystation the hotel is not easy to get to by car. Some roads are blocked so you have to follow a detour. For the parking you have to pay, but staff told us about alternatives.

“My tip: Maybe tell your future guests how to get to the hotel now roads are blocked. You have to follow nr 7 if I remember well.”

    Needs a technology upgrade

The hotel is (or will be) very convenient for travellers when the new railway station is finished. Right now it s only reachable via massive flights of steps, but I enjoyed the workout.

There s nothing more frustrating than having your keycard fail after walking 5 minutes or more to your room. The Ving technology feels last century compared with modern touchpads, which do mostly work. I paid extra for a room in the newer wing after my last stay in a dowdy room in the old part. This was cheerier, but the TV remote also failed and someone had to come and remove a panel to turn the TV off. The room had hardly any power points so I had to choose between charging my laptop or havin

“My tip: Wait until they renovate, rumoured to be part of the deal with the station renovation.”

Perfect chose to stay and enjoy Breda

Positive point is the location. It is very strategic because it is located just next to train and bus station as well as not too far from the centrum.

Negative point is the old building. It needs to redecorate and to make it look fresh and brighter.

“My tip: Always chose to stay at Apollo Hotel.”

    Modern, friendly and superb value

Excellent friendly reception Well decorated, spotlessly clean room Excellently cool on a very warm day Good buffet breakfast Good location

A mini bar in the room might be a good idea. Getting out of the car park was a bit complicated. After paying for the car park in reception we tried to leave by inserting the ticket reception gave us but were constantly told that we had to re-insert our credit card

    Appollo Hote 4* : 6 out of 10

Location in center of the town. Nice rooms, kind employees and nice food service.

Our private 2 bikes have been stolen from the hotel park for bikes. Apart of one phone call to the police station no further assistance or help have been provided by hotel Apollo.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and warm on arrival (the room thermostat also worked). This hotel really was two minutes walk from the station/town centre.

Expensive continental breakfast but this didn\'t really matter as there were many alternatives locally in the town centre .

    Helpfull staff

It appears that the hotel is stuck in the late 70\'s early 80\'s. Shame that the name Mercure does not give a more consistent standard accross its hotels.
