Herberg De Gouden Leeuw Bronkhorst

Hotel details:
Herberg De Gouden Leeuw lies in Bronkhorst in the province of Gelderland. A place known as the Netherlands' smallest city, with only 150 inhabitants. De Gouden Leeuw is established in this historic place on the IJssel, directly opposite a chapel from 1345. This characteristic old farm is atmospherically decorated. On chilly days, you can cosy up by the warm fireplace in the hotel bar in the old part of the building. And in summer, on balmy evenings, it's lovely to sit in the nostalgic inner courtyard, previously the farm's front garden and where you can now enjoy a drink and a chat.
An extensive breakfast buffet is available between 08:30 and 10:00. An à la carte restaurant is established in 't Pietshuus, one of the hotel's buildings, offering a varied lunch menu as well as a delicious dining experience. Please inform the hotel if you have any special dietary wishes so that the head chef can take your needs into account. Another restaurant is also situated opposite the hotel.
Bronkhorst - granted city privileges in 1482, and the Netherlands' smallest city - lies in the forelands of the river IJssel. The local ferry will take you across the river allowing you to travel via Brummen to the beautiful Veluwe area. The Hanseatic town of Zutphen lies within 12 kilometres of the hotel. This town is certainly worth visiting. In Bronkhorst itself, you can see the 14th-century chapel and the 13th-century Hoge Huys, and visit the old Jewish cemetry on the town's outskirts.
- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests can check in until 22:00. If you wish to check in at a later time, this can be arranged in consultation with the hotel.
- A 3% surcharge applies to credit card payments.
- The amount displayed for tourist tax includes an eco-tax.

denise Syemons- very well located in a charming environment
- for Belgian taste, culinary not very refined. Could be easily improved by adding some small prime plates and serve less enormous quantities.

Nigel Poole- Very comfortable room, hotel has a nice charm about it, welcoming log fire in bar. Good food.
