The location of Hotel des Colonies Brussels is incredibly convenient, within close walking distance of Rogier underground station and a 10-minute walk from the famous Grand Place. The building in which the hotel is established has a rich history. The glory of bygone years is reflected in the large public areas. The rooms have been respectfully decorated with comfortable furniture and modern facilities to complement the building's historic charm.
A breakfast buffet is available between 07:00 and 10:00. You can enjoy a drink in the bar.The hotel does not have a restaurant, however Brussels has a renowned culinary reputation and boasts many good restaurants. Snacks are also available from the vending machine in the hotel.
Hotel des Colonies lies in Brussels' historic city centre. The hotel can easily be reached by public transport, as it is within walking distance of Brussels North railway station. With an underground station next door, it's also easy to reach the more remote attractions which Belgium's capital city has to offer, such as the Atomium. It is only a 10-minute walk from the hotel to Grand Place, the 'Manneken Pis' statue, St. Michael's Cathedral, and the Royal Palace.
The hotel is currently undergoing renovation work. This is carried out in phases. Any inconvenience will be kept to a minimum.

“In need of improvement, but brilliantly located”
- excellently located
- Rooms in very basic condition. Heavy lamp over the bed appeared to be hanging very loosely - I ended up moving the bed. No hand soap in toilet - only toilettry provided was gel in the shower but the container was almost blocked. Some black patches in shower rim. At times, the internet was dead slow - not great for business travelers. Overall, the price/quality appears low. Having said all this, the service was very polite and attentive and the location is really very good. So, the hotel is wo

“I would only stay at Hotel des Colonies if i had nowhere else to stay.”
- I was robbed of a laptop, mobile phone and digital camera from my room no. 206 on tuesday 21st June 2011 during the afternoon while i was out of the hotel. There was no break in into the room. My conviction is that it was either the hotel house keeping staff or they abetted the robbery. I was advised to report to Police which i did and the matter is still under investigation.

“Long gone glory.”
- This hotel was beautiful long time ago but unfortunately needs an urgent renovation to bring it back to its long gone glory. Hotel is clean, carpet in good condition breakfast is good.
- I think for the price paid I could have got a better hotel. I will not return.
