This unique hotel is situated in one of the Netherlands' greenest and most charming airports. It is the only hotel in Europe where you can park light aircraft on your doorstep and where you can see parachutists from your balcony. Pilots just love being able to admire their treasured mode of transport while staying in this hotel.

Hotel De Vlijt has 10 rooms in which you can utterly unwind. All luxury 2-person suites feature a spacious living area with a sitting area, a flatscreen television, dining table, kitchenette, bedroom and a separate toilet. The kitchenette is not fitted with a hob for safety reasons, but it does offer a microwave, a Nespresso machine, an egg cooker and a kettle. The bedroom features a small, flatscreen television, twin beds, a suitcase rack and a wardrobe. And in the bathroom, you can enjoy a bubble bath or hop in the steam shower cubicle.

At De Vlijt you can rent a bicycle (with gears) to explore the beautiful island. Various cycling routes have been set out, all of which show a special part of Texel. Airport Restaurant De Vlijt is a seasonal enterprise. In the early and late season, the restaurant is open from 11:00 until 16:00 and in high season from 10:00 until 18:00. The restaurant only opens in winter when there's air traffic. The restaurant is furthermore open during good flying weather. You cannot have breakfast at the hotel, but a fly-inn breakfast is available on request at the reception and is delivered for €15.00 per person.

There's plenty to do in the surroundings of Hotel De Vlijt Texel: hop on a plane, take a trial flying lesson, go skydiving, horse riding, go-karting, golf or rafting. Not to mention relaxing in Texel's beautiful landscape and tranquillity. De Slufter is nearby and the dunes and beach are just 2 kilometres away. Birdwatchers will love Texel and you'll also spot Texel's famous sheep all around. In terms of culture, there are several museums to visit, including the Aviation & War Museum Texel near the airport. And a trip to the Ecomare seal sanctuary is also certainly worthwhile.
