Texel is a lovely island to spend your holiday. Hotel Zeerust is located in the village De Koog at the foot of the dunes, just 5 minutes on foot from the wide North Sea beach. You can also go hiking in the woods, which are on the edge of the village. Besides woods and dunes the island also has a large variety of birds, that live in nature reserves such as 'De Muy', 'De Slufter', 'De Geul' and 'De Schorren'
The breakfast buffet is served from 08:00 to 10:00. In the restaurant you can enjoy a 3-course menu that changes daily. The restaurant is open from April until the end of October.
Texel offers about 150 kilometres of bicycle paths and the island is also perfect for those who like swimming, horse back riding, surfing and playing golf. The beach is within walking distance of Hotel Zeerust and the woods are also nearby. In the village De Koog there are nice shops and lively cafés. Ecomare, the centre for the 'Wadden' islands and the North Sea, is also worth a visit. Besides an information centre, this complex houses a shelter for seals and birds.
- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. You can check in until 22:30.

“mediocre”
- Close to beach and restaurants etc.
- Room and bathroom OK but small and a bit noisy. Not a place that makes you feel welcome, or makes any special effort for guests. If you want dinner in the hotel, it is served at 6 to 6.30. Breakfast is at 8 and not even coffee available before that. The wifi internet connection did not work and staff did nothing to try and fix it during our 2 day stay.

“A very nice breakfast...!”
- Very nice personal, an excellent breakfast and quiet floors. Five minutes walking from the main street, restaurants and Beach. Handicapped rest-room in the lobby. Parking area for guests. Fair price to a, in general, very good quality.
- Mattresses a bit too soft for our backs :-) No elevator, that we knew, so the steep stairs were a bit uncomfortable to climb up/down with our suitcase for two ;-)
