Den Hoorn is one of the oldest and most picturesque villages of Texel. It is situated on the southern side of the island and offers nice restaurants and cafés, a miniature golf course and a children's farm. Texel also has several nature reserves, some of which can be reached on foot from the hotel. The beach lies at about 2 kilometres from Hotel Op Diek.

The ferry to Texel departs every 30 minutes from Den Helder ferry terminal. The crossing takes approximately half an hour. It is not necessary to make reservations beforehand; additional boats are brought in during busy periods. The ferry also carries cars.
