The menu features regional specialities, such as fried eel and duck breast. In addition to à la carte dishes, the restaurant offers daily menus. The kitchen is open until 21:00. You can take a seat on the sunny outdoor terrace during nice weather and enjoy watching the boats sail by.

“Zuiderzee Route”

The hotel rooms are fairy large, clean and attractive. Check-in and out was easy. The breakfast had a wide variety.
The hotel is two miles north of the centrum although we knew this when we booked the hotel four more miles on a bike after a long ride, filling dinner and a bottle of wine.

“Good hotel with polite personel”

The staff was very polite, helpful and well organized. They gave us maps of the area and explained everything. All our needs were met. There was possibility to rent bikes (9.5 day) and boats (15 hour). The hotel is situated in a quiet place and has free parking.
The hotel is at the beginning edge of the village (coming from Amsterdam), which means approximately 15min by bicycle to get to the center of the village.

“Friendly and helpful staff, charming town”

All of the staff at the Hotel were very friendly and helpful. They have bicycles to use for those without a car. The breakfast had a nice variety of food. We ate at the restaurant for three nights, and we liked all of our meals, especially the fresh fish. Our room had a deck, which was very pleasant.
The hotel is near the most picturesque part of Giethoorn, but not near any shops or other services. If you do not have a car, be prepared to bike to town. There are not a lot of amenities in the rooms (tea coffee, bar soap), but for the price we were not expecting anything fancy.

“Small and quaint - go when the weather is nice”

Incredibly friendly and accomodating staff. They bumped us up to a better room for no extra charge (off-season)! The terraced rooms are beautiful when it's sunny. Decent breakfast.
Not worth the canals that the town has to offer when the weather is poor. Off-season, the hotel restaurant is open for dinner until 8pm, and the town restaurants also work limited hours, especially Sundays.

“A friendly, comfortable place from which to explore a remarkable area”

Very helpful staff who were full of information about the area and trained me most efficiently in the use of a small boat! Excellent supper.
If you didn't book a room with a balcony (ground level) as I did, there was some, but not a lot of space to sit out of doors and look at the countryside, which, given the location of the hotel, you might expect to be able to do.
