The City Hotel Groningen is located in the centre of this vibrant university city. You will have no excuse to be bored here: both inside and outside of the hotel there is a lot to see and do. Surroundings
The 750-year-old city of Groningen has much to offer, also in a cultural-historical sense. A 5-minute walk from the City Hotel Groningen will lead you to the Prinsenhof with its Prinsentuin. This Renaissance courtyard has a rose garden, a herb garden and footpaths sheltered by ivy-covered arches. The entrance boasts what experts claim to be the Netherlands' finest sun dial. Nearby, you can climb the 97-metre-high Martini Tower, which offers a truly breathtaking view of Groningen.
Food and Drink
Every day between 07:00 and 10:00. the hotel serves a continental breakfast buffet in the breakfast restaurant. On the weekend this breakfast is served between 08:00 and 11:30. Every floor of the City Hotel Groningen offers coffee and tea making facilities that guests can use for free.The atmospheric hotel bar is open every day. Besides a good glass of wine or a nice beer this bar also offers some small bar snacks. It is open from 17:00 until 01:00. The hotel does not have its own restaurant for lunch or dinner, but this should not be a problem at all. On the street Kattendiep alone, where the hotel is located, there is already a wide choice of restaurants. Here you will find some excellent restaurants that vary greatly in atmosphere and cuisine. Spanish, Cuban, Tuscan, Chinese, and vegetarian; you are bound to find something to your liking.

Hotel ligt goed bij de centrum
Kamer was vies heel klein voor een superiumroom. Airco werkte niet en het was 29 graden. De matras was alsof je op de virring sliep. Heel slecht geslapen. voor minder dan 125 euro pn hebben wij in betere hotels geslapen.

A very nice, comfortable hotel in a really lovely town. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good, the rooms are nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Also it is very central.

Made to feel very welcome when checking in, same level of friendliness and helpfulness throughout our stay. Complimentary tea/coffee near to lift of each floor. Bed and pillows very supportive. Complimentary access to internet and emails. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. City centre location. Good choice of breakfast.
Wanted to stay there again but reluctantly had to book elsewhere due to maximum occupancy available of 2 persons per room meaning our my wife and I and our daughter would need to have two rooms, doubling the cost.

12:00 check out is great means you feel quite relaxed and don't have to rush.
More special offers and last minute deals would be great. My stay was for a special occasion so didn't mind paying for a one off event however would be more inclined to use the hotel if it were sometimes cheaper. Especially at qieter times of the year etc.
