Hotel Corps de Garde Groningen was built in 1634 and is provided with all modern comforts, yet its rich history is still tangible. The beautifully restored barroom offers an oasis of tranquillity, where guests may enjoy a fine glass of wine or a freshly-baked croissant. The library, that is specialised in books about the region, is also situated in the barroom. The lovely historic building is located at the ring of inner city canals and overlooks the former cattle-market; the 'Ossenmarkt'. The hospitable hotel staff will do their utmost to create a pleasant and informal atmosphere.
The extensive breakfast buffet is set up on weekdays from 07:30 to 10:00 h. and on weekends from 08:00 to 11:00 h. The lovely lounge serves as a perfect place to enjoy freshly ground coffee or cappuccino, sandwiches and croissants and fresh orange juice.
Hotel Corps de Garde lies in the historic centre of the city Groningen, just a few minutes from the 'Grote Markt' square where many shops, restaurants and terraces can be found. The city is renowned for its almshouses, such as the 'Pelstergasthuis'. The chapel is its oldest part that dates back to the year 1267. - A lovely traditional Dutch building, refurbished to a very high standard of modern comfort. I particularly like the free wifi and my own balcony. Very helpful staff.
- None. The only suggestion would be to offer not to wash towels every day to be more green.

- The room was charming, large and comfortable. The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful, and made great coffee! If I return to Groningen I will definitely stay at the corps de garde again!

- The hotel was clean, tastefully decorated, well-maintained and ideally located for exploring the heart of Groningen. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient and I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Groningen, whether on business or for pleasure.

- I loved the decoration of the room, the spacious bathroom and the big bed.
- for such a lovely modern room one would have expect a more modern tv screen- a lot of dust on the tablelamp-no planchet in the bathroom very unhandy

- Great service and comfortable rooms.
- Too noisy in the night as it was along a busy street. Forget about the breakfast. It\'s too expensive and there are plenty of nice resturant or street food along the market.

- superb service, quiet location on the edge of the city centre, 5 minute walk from the town square. Nice modern ensuite bathrom. Beautiful city and I would come back here
