Herberg Oer 't Hout Grou lies in a beautiful place in the middle of Friesland near the large Pikmeer lake. Everyone will have the opportunity to finally learn to sail here, as the CWO sailing school, 'Oer' t Hout', has been skillfully doing this for years, and with a lot of pleasure. The pier is usually full of sailing boats, where both young and old can practise their sailing skills. Families are also welcome in this dynamic and fun environment; everyone can learn to sail at their own level. Besides sailing, it's also nice to sit by the fireplace in the bar, where you can listen to one another's precarious adventures on the water.

A breakfast buffet is available every morning from 08:00 to 10:00 in the restaurant of Herberg Oer 't Hout Grou. There is a cosy bar area, which is open daily from 17:00 to 01:00.The restaurant is only open for dinner (in the form of a buffet) from 18:00 to 19:00. Those wishing to have lunch can arrange this on request.

If you've had enough of water, you can head to the Frisian capital of Leeuwarden. This city offers many historically interesting sights, such as, for example, in the Fries Museum. Grou itself is also a charming place, especially in the summer with its many outdoor cafés, nice little shops and beautiful buildings with characteristic façades. Cycling is also certainly worth the effort in this region, for instance along the 'pontjes' route. The surrounding countryside is just as it has been for centuries; virtually untouched by industry or other modern phenomena. Tranquillity, space, vast meadows and magnificent areas of scenic beauty.
