“Great helpfull staff got a free upgrade ”

Close to everything, car park was only 13 euros a night and 150 meters from hotel, clean and secure,rooms very adequate for the price, very lively nightlife, the upgrade was to the ambassador hotel itself as the joops was full because a party wanted to stay a few more nights, rooms were new rooms on ground floor out the rear courtyard
A little noizy when people returned at night, Couldn t stay longer )

“Noisy location, cold rooms, no wifi”

Located in the center of town
Room was advertised as offering climate control, wifi etc. - Climate control turned out to be the ability to turn a knob on the heater. Still not warm enough and the first night we had to sleep fully clothes and brought towels as no blankets available. - Wifi was available if you took the stairs to the first floor, and say on the staircase. We informed the reception of this after our first night (reception was clogged up in the morning, so we returned at 13 00) at this point the s

“Can t wait to come again”

Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Location is perfect with easy access to the inner city and not too far on foot from the railway station. Amsterdam is only next door by train. Perfect to connect to international trains and of course Schiphol. The breakfast is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. This was our second stay at Joops and we ll be back
The lighting in the room we had this time was not the best. Sometimes you want a good overhead light to be able to see everything.

“The triple room looks like a suite ”

We had a very big room, enough room for the three of us. The beds were also comfortable.
The refrigerator is somewhat small, doesn t have a freezer and doesn t cool very well.

“Comfortable stay in Haarlem”

We were upgraded on arrival from Joops Hotel to the Ambassador City Hotel (sister hotel) which was a bonus. Both hotels are situated in the heart of Haarlem. Rooms are large and comfortable, with a large bathroom wet room. We last stayed in Joops 8 years ago, which is why we chose the hotel. Staff are very friendly.
Carpets in the hotel are stained and look dirty, although they are vacuumed daily (we saw the chamber maids vacuum our room). You had to walk past a cluttered restaurant which is not in use, to go up the stairs to the rooms. This gives the impression of a run down hotel (which it isn t). Finally, as in most European hotels no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Could the hotel consider offering this, if requested by the guest, for a small fee each day In Barcelona we could have this

“Great hotel in the heart of Haarlem”

We truly enjoyed our stay in Joops Hotel - very clean and comfortable rooms, well equipped and superb location. Our room had a big terrace balcony with a lovely view over the roof tops of old Haarlem. Hotel has large rooms and spacious lift. Great alternative to chain hotels. Haarlem is a beautiful city, near the beach, Amsterdam and Schiphol - ideal for a quick get away or to explore North Holland even longer
Only that the beds were hard ) But to us, hard bed is better than a soft bed (that s the 9 for comfort, otherwise it would have been 10)

Shower and batthroom were excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Location was ideal.
No coffee making facilities. Breakfast room was not in same building.

“You will want to come back to Joops!”

Spacious room with a beautiful comfortable couch, a nice balcony, and view. Wonderful breakfast, delightful Egyptian decor, and very pleasant staff. Handy to all amenities, canal boat trips, museums, Grote Kerk, Keukenhof, and other cities. Good train and bus services, and excellent shops in Haarlem.
