A 40-minute drive will take you to Amsterdam while the city of Alkmaar is situated a little closer to the hotel. From here, it's easy to take trips out, for instance to the cheese market in Alkmaar (during the summer season) or the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. A special trip out would be a ride in the museum steam train between Hoorn and Medemblik, and water sports enthusiasts can indulge themselves on the nearby Markermeer lake.

- there was a storm raging outside and the window in the room did not close properly. So at 3 AM I was woken by the wind blowing thru the window making a lot of noise. It ruined my nights sleep.

“Modern hotel with all the amenities and a casino”
- Hotel is immaculate and staff are very warm and helpful. The cocktail lounge on the third floor has great atmosphere and beverages. The restaurant had a wide selection and food was delicious. The morning buffet was awesome. They were out of croissants when I went through the buffet and the chef brought two hot croissants to our table as soon as they came out of the oven. This hotel was a joy to stay in. They even have a 7 screen movie theatre in the building.

“An outstanding new hotel ”
- Everything was excellent. Perhaps best of all was the service which was cheerful and friendly as well as diligent and efficient. The quality of the breakfast, too, was first-class.
- No negatives. The one thing that is less than perfect for me is the location. Hoorn is a very attractive town and I have previously enjoyed staying in the centre, but the setting of the hotel is pleasant and for drivers the location is ideal.
