Hotel 't Anker is established within four characteristic townhouses in the atmospheric and historic centre of Leeuwarden. The pleasant family-run hotel is a popular attraction for hotel guests travelling from afar as well as locals who enjoy visiting the café. Furthermore, the hotel has a simple restaurant where you can enjoy Dutch cuisine. The hotel offers basic as well as more luxurious hotel rooms, all of which come with free wireless Internet. The deluxe rooms feature a sitting area, a desk, a TV and an en suite bathroom. The basic rooms come with essential facilities and a shared bathroom. The hotel's 22 rooms offer accommodation for a maximum of 60 persons. This hotel is also very suitable for groups, as it's possible to book a hotel room for a maximum of eight persons.
Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet on Saturday to Monday from 07:45 until 09:30, and on Tuesday to Friday an hour earlier from 06:45 until 09:30. The hotel has a restaurant which serves simple Dutch lunch and dinner dishes. The restaurant is open on Monday to Saturday from 12:00 until 23:00, and on Sunday from 18:00 until 23:00. You can enjoy a drink in the café; open Monday to Saturday until 01:00. The café is open on Sunday from 18:00 until 00:30.
Hotel 't Anker is situated on Eewal in the centre of Leeuwarden. It is just a 10-minute walk from the hotel to the railway station. The centre of Leeuwarden is incredibly cosy and pleasant; a place where you're able to have a great time shopping and enjoy delicious dishes at one of the city's many cafés or restaurants. “Nice little in with a lot of character”
- Very friendly personel, solid breakfast, room was simple with slightly old equipment but this all adds to the hotels charme, bed was very comfortable and clean
- room was next to kitchen so sometimes a lot of noise

- The hotel is old, but clean and well located. The owners (Chris) went out of their way to accommodate us, and were super friendly. The room we had was huge and front facing. The price was astounding, around $70 dollars. The breakfast was traditional Dutch, some coffee, bread, meat and cheese and boiled eggs. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel if you are looking for clean basic accommodations. (the EU is experiencing a difficult recession and all tourism is suffering and working w
- For the price, I have no negatives about this hotel. It is basic and clean, but is probably 2+ stars by American standards.

“Good Central Leeuwarden Location”
- Central location, Clean rooms, Good Breakfast included, Good food and beer at restaurant. Friendly staff
- Nothing major..Dropping off luggage before parking can be challenging as not many parking spaces around hotel. Although a good car park is only 5 minutes walk away [directions from the hotelier] and costs only 3 EUR for 24 hours. My room did not have toilet but there were two shower rooms/toilets on each floor, so no real problems [There is a washbasin in the room].
