Hotel

You will find the remarkable Kruisherenhotel Maastricht in a former monastery and Gothic church from the 15th century. Internationally renowned interior designer Henk Vos and world-famous light artist Ingo Maurer were jointly responsible for the hotel's interior design. They have created a fascinating connection between Gothic details and elements of design. The interesting contrast between ancient and modern architecture is clearly visible.

The contemporary and comfortable rooms in the Kruisherenhotel each have a unique atmosphere. The hotel rooms are divided over the former buildings of the monastery, the gatekeeper's house and the modern Casa Nova. In the rooms you will find a flatscreen television, safe, air conditioning and a minibar, among other things. You will sleep in a 'Kruisheren' bed, that was specially designed by Henk Vos and Auping. A piece of art and a personal poem add a unique touch to each room.

For a savoury lunch or dinner you can visit the restaurant. Or taste one of the good wines from the glass wine cellar. The terrace of the hotel is located at the Kommelplein square. In the former church you will now find the reception, lobby, three modern boardrooms, a library and a glass elevator.

Surroundings

The central location of the Kruisherenhotel Maastricht is perfect if you would like to explore this beautiful city. The cosy Vrijthof square with its terraces is nearby, as well as several shopping streets. When you cross the Maas river via the Sint Servaas bridge, you end up in the trendy districts Wyck and Céramique. Here you can visit the Bonnefantenmuseum.

Food and Drink

The mezzanine in the nave of the church is where you can enjoy an extensive breakfast. Breakfast is available from 06:30 until 10:00 on weekdays, and from 08:00 until 10:30 at weekends. The staff also serve lunch and dinner in this special location. This means that whilst enjoying the culinary surprises, you can admire the view of the beautiful wall- and ceiling paintings as well as the stained-glass windows. In the former side chapels of the church there are now three lounge corners. The choir nowadays houses the Winebar Rouge & Blanc, which has an impressive, aboveground, glass wine cellar. Take a seat on one of the red benches with a good glass of wine, or a cup of tea or coffee with a slice of flan, the regional speciality.

    Awesome setting, funky interior.

    Expensive breakfast and car parking.

“My tip: Coffee lovers is perfect for your caffeine addiction and located across town. Visit the most beautiful bookstore inside a church in the world.”

A totally unforgettable and great experience!

An absolutely brilliant experience in an amazing atmosphere. The service was altogether top-rate.

The service during the impressive 'nouvelle cuisine' style dinner was understandably slow. I made a few suggestions to perhaps help with this. The accommodation cost is high, but the quality of it is totally outstanding.

“My tip: Great attractions and general facilities very close by.”

A truly fabulous place to stay and relax!

Outstandingly prompt and helpful staff at the desk. A fabulous and relaxed atmosphere. Amazing, yet under-stated, design. Great attention is given to detail in providing a truly comfortable luxury experience for the guests.

Service at dinner was on the slow side (this might appeal to the romantically inclined, however), but clearly a huge amount of time had been spent in individually preparing each picture-perfect dish.

    Wow for design

    interesting place to stay

breakfast outrageously expensive - especially when hot food not topped up or kept warm, srambled eggs were cold on both days

Beautiful hotel with great interior and a friendly staff. Good restaurant.

Because of the "room in room" principle taking a shower is quite cold and for sleeping the room temperature is quite high. Lots of light buttons in the room and one "mystery light" that went off at its own initiative.
