Noordwijk aan Zee was established in the early 13th century when the first fishermen settled in the dunes around Noordwijk. In 1866 it became a beach resort because the seawater was supposed to have a medicinal effect. Nowadays, it is the third largest beach resort in the Netherlands. Hotel de Admiraal Noordwijk is located near the centre of Noordwijk aan Zee, close to the beautiful beach and the North Sea.
A breakfast buffet is served in the atmospheric restaurant between 07:30 and 09:30. You can enjoy a drink or a snack on the sunny terrace or in the hotel bar, which is open until midnight.
The beautiful dune area is perfect for enjoying long walks and bike rides. There are also plenty of options for sporty tourists, like horseback riding, tennis or water sports. In the evening you can saunter along the boulevard with its many nice restaurants and enjoy the vibrant nightlife Noordwijk aan Zee has to offer.

“Practical place in Noordwijk”
- This hotel is an excellent choice for a business stay in the area. There s a shuttle service from the hotel to ESA ESTEC, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast at the hotel is nice, and the owner is friendly and easy going. The beach is less than five minutes walking from the hotel.
- The walls are a bit thin, so one hears the other guests in their rooms.

- Great place with family atmosphere. Always pleasure to be there.
- I was missing additional blankets in the room and I was cold during the night (because I wasn't feeling quite well - the room had a normal temperature otherwise). I could have asked at the reception and I'm sure I'd get help. But it would have been great if extra blankets were automatically there.

“A pleasant budget hotel in a quiet location”
- Reasonable value; good breakfast included in price, own parking, though limited places. Close to Nordwijk on sea, and walks in woodlands and sand-dunes nearby. A quiet location. Beds comfortable and clean. Has a lift.
- Fairly basic rooms, though adequate. Nearby room repairs in progress made some noise during the day.

- The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent. Lots of choice and plenty of everything. The hotel really is a very short walk from the beach.
- A minor point. The hairdryer in my room did not work and was not repaired during my stay.
