Hotel DoniaState enjoys beautiful woody surroundings on the charming car-free (only residents are allowed cars) island of Vlieland, where you can still enjoy unspoilt nature undisturbed. The island is perfect for long walks or bike rides through the woods, dunes and on the beach. After a busy day out admiring nature you can indulge yourself in the hotel's beauty salon, where you can choose from a wide range of beauty treatments and massages.

Breakfast is served daily in the breakfast room between 08:00 and 10:30, and in spring and autumn between 08:30 and 10:30. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but many bars and restaurants can be found within a 5-minute walk of the village of Oost-Vlieland.

Vlieland distinguishes itself from the other West Frisian Islands because, unlike the others, its village and harbour is located on the east and not the west of the island. Prevailing western winds coupled with the abundance of sand on the Vliehorst sandbank have created the highest dune in the area: the 40-metre-high Vuurboetsduin, also known for its iconic lighthouse. The picturesque village of Oost-Vlieland lies in the lee of this dune.

- Guests can check in daily between 15:00 and 17:00, and after the arrival of the evening ferry. It is also possible to check in after the morning ferry (subject to availability).
- The hotel offers free luggage transport to and from the ferry via the bike hire company Bagagevervoer Vlieland.
