Hotel Waddengenot is in the centre of Pieterburen, a 2-minute walk from the seal sanctuary. The hotel is established in a listed building that dates back to 1850 and has since been entirely renovated with great attention to detail. At a reduced rate, hotel guests can enjoy use of the bath house and sauna. Guests are required to bring their own swimwear, bathrobes and slippers. But these items are also available to hire or purchase at the hotel.

Breakfast is available in the morning in Grand Café/Pizzeria Waddengenot or in the restaurant Waddengenot between 08:00 and 10:00. Restaurant Waddengenot is just opposite the hotel and the perfect spot for a delicious dinner, offering a variety of dishes prepared with local produce. The menu of Grand Café/Pizzeria Waddengenot is graced with tapas dishes and freshly baked pizzas. Round off your day in the atmospheric après Wadbar. Relax over a glass of wine or a regional beer with a selection of traditional Dutch appetizers.

Experience an island vibe while remaining on the mainland. Located in a typically Dutch landscape, there are plenty of options for day trips whilst staying at Hotel Waddengenot Pieterburen. Visit the seal sanctuary, for example, or take the ferry to Schiermonnikoog.
The Wadden Sea is a stone's throw away and a guided walk on the mudflats is highly recommended. Enjoy lovely walks and bike rides through the Lauwersmeer National Park, and sample local delicacies in Groningen's vibrant city centre teeming with restaurants. Both places are well worth visiting.

There is plenty to see and do in and around Pieterburen. Take a guided walking tour across the mudflats or set off on the famous Pieterpad walking route, trailing 485 kilometres from north to south. Simply enquire at reception for information about walking, cycling and driving routes. Bikes and e-bikes are available to hire at the hotel. After a long bike ride, you can unwind in the Badhuis Waddenwellness situated next door. It's also nice to visit the 'après Wadbar' and the kids will enjoy the playground and go-kart track.

The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Check-in is possible until 18:00. Please notify the hotel in advance in the event of a late arrival.
