Hotel Van der Valk Purmerend is a 3-star hotel, conveniently located near the centre of Purmerend. Within walking distance of the hotel is a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Amsterdam Central Station. A 20-minute drive will take you to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands.
A continental breakfast buffet is served Monday to Friday from 06:30 until 10:00, and at weekends from 07:30 until 11:00. In the atmospheric à la carte restaurant 'Beemsterpolder' guests can enjoy French-Dutch cuisine as well as vegetarian and seasonal dishes. The restaurant is open until 21:00. Lunch is served from 11:00 onwards.
The 'Beemsterpolder' is the first reclaimed land area in the Netherlands. The entire 'polder' is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its reclamation was accomplished in 1612. De Beemster also has more than 350 remarkable farmhouses that are typical of farms in the province of North Holland. Two of them, 'De Eenhoorn' and 'De Lepelaar' are both located on the Middenweg in Beemster and date from the Dutch Golden Age.
Purmerend forms an ideal basis for business travellers, as it is situated close to Amsterdam. There are also many places nearby for tourists, such as the 'Zaanse Schans', Volendam, the island of Marken, Alkmaar, and Hoorn. A visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'De Beemsterpolder', a centuries-old reclaimed land area, is also certainly worth undertaking.

- The location is quite good, near the bus station. The view around the hotel is nice too.
- There is no dental kit in the bathroom, I had to ask for it. further, during my stay, the lift was not work out, so I had to use stairs to get to my room.

- Uw hotel beschikt niet over een ruimte bij de ingang om rustig op iemand te zitten wachten. Mijn man kon niet lang staan. Elke keer opnieuw moest ik iemand om een stoel vragen.

- The Safe in the room did not work. this was reported but no action was taken. Lack of tea making facilities.

- Location, staff attitude and general "minor" attributes like free Wi-Fi made this hotel the best of six we stayed in during our 16 day tour of the Netherlands and France.
- Worst aspect of the room, but no reason for complaint or cause for concern, was the location directly abutting the entrance, which did lead to minor disturbances with late night visitors leaving after a night out.

“Well worth a visit both to the hotel and the town centre.”
- This hotel well deserves its three stars. It is smaller, friendlier and more intimate than many four and five star hotels visited during my working life.
- Hardly any negatives, perhaps a little more attention to the bathroom would be worthwhile.

“Comfortable hotel with great facilities”
- I was in the main building. Large, comfortable room. Fantastic breakfast, huge range of stuff to eat, very tasty. English speaking staff. Excellent parking. Close to public transport. Internet free and easy to use. Comfy bed.
- Very steep steps up to the room. No curtain in bathroom. Difficult to get attention of someone for dinner table. Had to pay on arrival.

“Another one of Holland's little gems.”
- Walking distance (5 mins) to the centre of Purmerend. Easy to access Amsterdam via Bus in about 30 mins to Central Station. Great location to explore this part of the Netherlands. Very helpful staff. Parking easy. Even if you have business in Amsterdam, this location offers a peaceful and relaxing alternative. I would definately use again.
