Staying in Het Arresthuis is unquestionably an unusual experience. This historic location was certainly not voluntarily visited between 1863 and 2007. However, since April 2011, guests are happy to stay here to indulge in luxury and comfort. Het Arresthuis originally functioned as a house of detention. It subsequently stood vacant for years before being utilised as a makeshift detention centre for 'drug mules' in 2002. In 2007, the jail was closed for good and the former prison was transformed into a hotel.

Breakfast is served on weekdays from 06:30 until 10:00, and at weekends from 08:00 until 11:00. Diamanz is open on Monday to Saturday from 12:30 until 14:30 for lunch, and from 18:00 until 21:30 for dinner. The culinary team will surprise you with fresh and contemporary dishes. Weather permitting, you can also enjoy delicious food and drinks on the patio terrace or in the courtyard, which incidentally used to be the prison's exercise yard. You are also welcome in the bar, before as well as after dinner. The bar is open daily from 09:00 until 01:00.

Het Arresthuis is situated in the city centre. There's plenty to see and do both in and around Roermond. You can go shopping in the centre or unwind on one of the many lovely outdoor terraces. Beautiful walking and cycling routes lead through De Meinweg National Park. You can also try out various water sports on the Maasplassen lakes. Furthermore, culture-lovers will enjoy a visit to the Cuypershuis museum.

ROUTE PLANNER:Should you wish to reach the hotel using satellite navigation, please enter <i>Steegstraat</i> and NOT <i>Pollartstraat</i>.- From the <i>Steegstraat</i>, keep driving and follow the road until you come to the <i>Swalmerstraat</i>.- Take the second turn on your left; this is the <i>Lindasstraat</i>.- Drive straight ahead and past the junction.- You have now arrived on the <i>Pollartstraat</i>. On your left is Het Arresthuis. The entrance to the car park is situated immediately past the hotel, on your left-hand side.
