Hotel van Walsum Rotterdam is a small-scale family hotel with a wealthy tradition. The hotel was established in several mansions that date from the year 1895.
The widow 'van Walsum' started a pension here in 1936 to provide for a living. The 'van Dam' family bought the premises in 1955 and has rebuilt and expanded the pension several times. The specific atmosphere of a classical hotel, where hospitality is still considered of paramount importance, has never faded. The ideal location of the hotel enables you to explore every aspect of the city, such as the renowned museum 'Boymans van Beuningen' that is just a short stroll away, or 'De Kunsthal' that presents many different exhibitions. But Rotterdam has much more to offer. What about a visit to the Euromast or 'Diergaarde Blijdorp' (Blijdorp Zoo)? It can all easily be reached from the hotel.
From 06:30 to 10:00 h. you can enjoy the extensive breakfast buffet in the informal atmosphere of the restaurant.The restaurant is open on request for groups. Guests can order small dishes 24 hours a day.
Hotel van Walsum is situated close to the 'Museumpark'. Together with the 'Witte de Withstraat' this area is considered the 'Kunst-As' (centre of art) of Rotterdam. Many museums and galleries are located here. But don't forget to admire the modern architecture that this city is famous for, such as the well known cube-houses and the elegant Erasmus bridge.

- The staff at this hotel were more than helpful in any instance. A good central location to the attractions in Rotterdam, and even though our room faced the road, there was no interferance to our stay from any noise outside.

- Efficient lift. Helpful staff. Near Museum Park. Some books available to borrow, and quite a good folder of City information though it was not all up to date. But staff knew a lot.
- Tea/coffee in room was not automatically provided. Breakfast rather costly unless you have a really big appetite.

“Great Rotterdam location with great Dutch breakfast”
- Great location near Boymans van Beuningen museum and the harbor but even the center is walking distance. Private parking!! Wonderful room on 3rd floor with doors to balcony. Very comfortable beds, Clean and well appointed bathroom with towel warmer! One of the best Dutch breakfast buffets we've had in NL. Very nice staff, very tastefully decorated public areas and bedroom. We will return!!

- Very cost effective hotel and very clean. Breakfast one of the best buffet I have had in Holland food fresh and very tasty would have no hesitation in staying here again.
- in the heart of the coffee shop area so area can be a bit intimidating after dark but plenty of police presence

“Good value and conveniently located”
- The location is excellent for anywhere in the city centre. The breakfast is great, and the room we stayed in was recently refurbished.
- The hotel seemed to be undergoing refurbishment while we stayed there and there was no lift, which made getting to our third floor room a bit difficult. However despite this the hotel managed to provide a good service and the quality of the refurbished rooms seems high.

“A good place to stay in Rotterdam”
- Well appointed comfortable room, with good facilities. Lovely balcony, light and airy. Quiet location which was much appreciated. Staff very helpful and gave good advice about what to see and do in Rotterdam, suited to our interests.
