Hotel Royal Sas van Gent lies in the province of Zeeland, near the Dutch-Belgium border, around 20 kilometres from Ghent and 30 kilometres from Vlissingen. Sas van Gent is located along the Ghent-Terneuzen waterway, and boats used to sail via the canal's lock towards Ghent. The name Sas van Gent means 'Lock of Ghent'.
