There is plenty to see and do around the detached farm in which Hotel B&B De Nieuwe Tijd is established. The large garden has various walking paths leading past the pond, the outdoor terraces and the duck and chicken run. For children, there is a playground with a trampoline, sandpit, slide and swings. In the stables are ponies, which children are allowed to ride under supervision. There is also a boules lawn for older guests.

An elaborate breakfast is served every morning between 05:30 and 10:00 in the farm's dining room. The outdoor kitchen with a roof has provides facilities for barbecuing, smoking fish, baking and stir-frying. The lawn offers sun loungers with a view of the flower garden.

Hotel B&B De Nieuwe Tijd is only a few kilometres from the picturesque towns of Medemblik, Hoorn and Enkhuizen. Lovely walking and cycling trips can be made around Robbengat or the island of Wieringen. You can go swimming and sunbathing on the vast North Sea beach or on the small, sandy beaches of Medemblik. Enthusiastic sailers and surfers can go to the IJsselmeer. While taking a guided walk across the mud flats you can encounter the unusual life on the seabed. Various driving routes that will lead you through the surroundings, are available at the farm. The owners will gladly offer tips and advice to guests. An excursion to the island of Texel is also recommended. The ferry from Den Helder only takes half an hour to reach Texel. The vibrant city of Amsterdam is only a 50-kilometre drive from the hotel.
