Droste's Herberg (dining and lodging) is an excellent choice for a wonderful stay in Twente. Droste's is the contemporary version of the age-old inn. The café provides a lovely meeting place with an original billiards table. The restaurant prepares good honest food using mainly local produce. The Michelin Guide awarded the restaurant a Bib Gourmand for its excellent price-quality ratio, and the Gault Millau declared it to be the most sustainable restaurant in the Netherlands in 2013.

Breakfast is served in the open and attractive Wintertuin (Winter Garden). Breakfast can be enjoyed in this sun room on weekdays between 07:00 and 10:00, and on Saturday and Sunday between 08:00 and 11:00. The restaurant can be described as "bistronomy". The combination of good honest cooking, sampled in an informal setting with a good price-quality ratio. The chef makes use of seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on regional produce from Twente. The menu therefore changes every two months.The restaurant is open Monday to Friday from 12:00 until 21:00, and at weekends from 14:00 until 21:00.In the Grand Café, you can enjoy a cappuccino with a slice of cake or a glass of wine whilst sitting at the reading table or on the terrace. A select menu is also available. The café has a billiards table, and you can enjoy an aperitif by the fireplace.The Grand Café is open until 01:00.

Droste's Herberg is surrounded by Twente's countryside. Nearby cycling paths and walking trails will lead you along the characteristic landscape and beautiful natural scenery, such as the heaths of Vasserheide. You'll also find nice museums and art galleries in and around Tubbergen, and the town of Almelo is just a 15-minute drive away.
