The 80 rooms in the hotel have comfortable amenities that include two single beds, a television with free video canal, free nespresso machine and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The hotel has a characterful restaurant, where an extensive breakfast buffet is served daily from 06:00 to 09:00 h., in weekends from 07:00 to 10:30 h. Between 11:00 and 23:00 h. you can visit the à la carte restaurant for a nice lunch or dinner. When you plan to go out for the day you can inform at the reception about the option to get a packed lunch (at an extra charge). Besides a restaurant the hotel has a nice bar, which is open until 23:30 h. In this bar you can have a drink or a snack and there are movie and soccer nights regularly.
The Bastion Hotel Utrecht is ideally located at the A12/exit 17. By tram you can reach the Jaarbeurs or city centre of Utrecht in about 5 minutes. Some of the recommended activities during a stay in this hotel are: climb the stairs of the Domtoren (Dom tower), cycle in the 'Oudegracht'(canal) on a canal bike, go shopping in the area that surrounds Hoog Catharijne and visit the Museumkwartier (area that houses several museums).
From the hotel you can easily reach the Jaarbeurs (conference and exhibition centre), the Uithof (university area) and the shopping centre of Utrecht. The tram takes you to both the Jaarbeurs and the heart of Utrecht in about 5 minutes. In the city centre you can discover beautiful historic buildings and churches. The area that surrounds Hoog Catharijne offers hours of shopping fun.

“Very friendly service”
- There was daily a well sorted breakfast, and a very friendly service.I liked that there were young girls and boys serving and asking questions(practicing students maybe ) I loved the modern and spacious bathroom.
- I hoped the hotel was in the centre of Utrecht, but I had to take a tram to the hotel. At first I had to look it up. The last day I stayed the fruitsalad was a bit sour(the pinnaeple has gone bad)The room was ok, but I assumed it was gonna be a bit more luxurious. There was a spider in my bathroom, but I am not afraid of them. But I can imagine that some guests would have screamed their lungs out by spotting the spider.

- Next to tram stop to town centre. Excellent staff, friendly and good service
- Small niggles about room - no soap dispenser in shower, the small bottles are no use. Alarm clock on same circuit as light therefore switches off when you pull the key card. No easy accessible power socket at desk

“OK passing-travellers hotel, nothing more”
- Staff was swift and thorough, hotel is clean. Very acceptable coffee in the bar (the breakfast coffee is best to be avoided). TV channels were ok, so often these are all very bad but two or three
- Beds, pillows and duvet aren't that great. Breakfast is good but absolutely no value for money: too pricey. The gym is a whopping three machines in a small room. First night, the shower did not get warm.

- --- For Utrecht town the location is fine with downtown reachable by fast tram in 15 minutes. --- Free parking --- Free fast Internet
- --- no A/C in the old rooms, too hot in the summer! --- Never mentioned anywhere was that this hotel is undergoing major renovations and building works. Staff was very nice about it, but place was squeezed and dusty, restaurant in a tent on the building yard with contractors running around all the time.

- When going to bed, I found someone\'s pyjama\'s in the bed. The bed had not been changed from the previous resident. I did report this to the duty manager who arranged for the bed to be changed. Not impressed.

“Good, basic, overnight accomodation, with friendly staff.”
- Easy to find when travelling from UK. Very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of car parking. Breakfast served early on Sunday.
- Too few staff, so had to wait at the bar and wait to pay when leaving. Restaurant a bit limited. Further from Utrecht town centre than I had thought.
