Our Favourite Dutch Hotel

We love this hotel, as it 39 s so conveniently situated in heart of the best of the four large cities in the Netherlands. The Dutch say, 34 Drie keer vallen, ben je daar 34 - fall over three times and you 39 re there - and that 39 s true of just about anything you want to do in Utrecht from this hotel. And if you want to go somewhere else, drie keer vallen ben je bij Utrecht Centraal, and then the Netherlands (and further) is your oyster.

Could do with a wider range of pillows and, in common with everywhere else in Europe it seems, you still have to tie the feet of the beds together D

Friendly welcome in heart of Utrecht

The staff were very friendly from the first moment when Merel checked me in. The location can t be beat. I had a pleasant walk along the canal to the Domplein in the shadow of the magnificent Cathedral where my meetings were held. The room was quite big and comfortable. The bathroom too. The breakfasts on the second floor are outstanding.

It rained every day and the temperature clung stubbornly to around 10 degrees Celsius. But the blame for that rested with a higher authority than the hotel. (I was told that the same week last year, the temp had been 30 degrees C).

“My tip: Like anywhere in Holland, the greatest threat to life and limb is bicycles. They don t always respect red lights and they clock high speeds. They are a great sight at rush hour though -- especially the moms and kids biking to school. A fine Italian restaurant is the Fontana across the Viestraat next to the McDonalds. ”

The staff were helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable. The location was perfect for us - close to the train station, yet within an easy walk of the city centre - and a stone s throw to TivoliVredenburg.

The surrounding area was noisy. A bit of wear and tear in the hotel s corridors.

Brilliant Choice in Utrecht

Location, efficiency, cleanliness. Close to transport, F B, culture and shopping.

Nice hotel in the centre of Utrecht city - I can fully recommend

Maybe there is missing some main (stronger)light in the room (there is not to much light in the evening wheen you need to work)

Good location

Staff were friendly and helpful. Very convenient location - not far from rail station, very close to historic centre and very near Tivoli Vredensburg for concert goers. Bathroom and bedding were clean. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room but if you like to have milk with it take some with you.

Room was shabby and in need of refurb. But was clean. Breakfast not worth the price charged. Room at front of building and noise from street goes into early hours so if you re a light sleeper try and get room at the back.

I was very happy with my stay, Everyone was helpful and polite.

I liked the lounge. It was very nice to come back to the hotel and relax with a coffee or tea. Iappreciated the newspapers to read. I liked my room. For two weeks it was my home. Everything was excellent. Thank you for having a computer with internet in the lounge. I did not bring my laptop.

I have nothing negative to say about any part of my stqy.

The perfect location and comfy beds!

I think this hotel need some better hygiene, and new interior, service etc. I really dont like the blankets all over the hotel. It makes you feel it's dirty everywhere. No aircondition - and it got really really hot in our room. Could have used aircondition.

Fifth visit to a brilliant hotel in a great location

Great hotel, with really friendly staff, right in the middle of Utrecht, five minutes' walk from the station. Now even has kettles in rooms - in addition to the self-service facilities that have always been available next to the breakfast room.

“My tip: As a former Netherlands resident, I'd suggsest that if you fancy a weekend in Amsterdam, you consider a weekend in Utrecht instead and go to Amsterdam by train (30 mins, every 30 mins, all day + night trains) if you need to. It'll cost you less, for a better hotel, has plenty of its own attractions, and isn't overrun with people solely determined to get off their heads.”

Vervallen, vies en veel te duur hotel.

De service was uitstekend.

Het was een vervallen hotel met vervallen, vieze kamers. Alleen de badkamer was nieuw en heel schoon. Het bed was doorgezakt. Het ontbijt was te duur voor het assortiment dat zij leverden.

Awesome hotel, stayed here many times and i'll be back again soon! Very central and easy to get to, nice rooms (stayed in a few of them now and all been nice and clean). Staff very helpful and courteous. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

Location to the centre of town and the train station was excellent

No plug for my sink, was not aware the single room would have a single bed - assumed perhaps a queen or small double. TV reception wasn't great and there was no airconditioning

Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. the hotel is convebiebt for centre, station and other facilities Rooms at the back of the hotel were accurately described as quiet - there is only a dead-ended footway .Thoroughly recommended.
