Naomi Morris- There was a very warm welcome and everything we needed for simple self-catering was supplied. The shower was lovely and the beds and seating very comfortable. The apartment was quiet yet quite central; it was an easy stroll into the town with its many cafes and interesting caves. Had we been younger with children, they would have enjoyed the play equipment in the garden and had it been later in the year we would have enjoyed the swimming pool! The apartments are virtually next door to the chair lift which takes you up the hill so the terrace was overlooked by the passengers which meant no real privacy but it was quite fun to watch! (It was only running in the day time.) There is plenty to do in the town and it is an easy train ride from Maastricht. The apartments suit all types of people and a variety of holidays; we would thoroughly recommend them and would certainly return again.
- We have no real complaints but put these two points for consideration. We realise that English tourists are very much in the minority in Valkenburg (for us that is an attraction!) and that things were aimed at Dutch families, walkers and cyclists but for those of us who do not speak Dutch it would have been helpful to have some information written in English as well. Although there is an English page on the website there is no English translation in the apartment's information booklet. This meant it took us a long time with a Dutch/English dictionary trying to read the house rules! We quite enjoyed this but others might benefit from having a page or two of important information in English. The microwave cooker didn't really fit anywhere so lived on the dining table and had to be moved elsewhere to be plugged in which was a bit awkward. Someone finding heavy/bulky things difficult might find this a problem.
