Hotel De l'Empereur lies in Valkenburg's pedestrianised zone in its town centre. Valkenburg is a cosy town with many outdoor terraces, nice shops and restaurants, not to mention its famous marl caves. The 3-star hotel has been managed by the same family for many decades and who do their utmost to make guests feel at home. Hotel de l'Empereur is one of the oldest hotels in Valkenburg. It was first mentioned in records dating back to the 15th century when the hotel was called Den Rooden Leeuw Inn. Its name was later changed to Hotel l'Empereur, to commemorate Napoleon having stayed at this hotel.

A breakfast buffet is available from 08:00 until 10:00. Guests can enjoy lunch, a good cup of coffee or a nice beer in the stylishly decorated Grand Cafe Joli Coeur. The romantic à la carte restaurant La Mangerie offers a choice of numerous specialities stemming from French cuisine. On sunny days, guests can order a delicious lunch or dinner on the terrace in front of the hotel. The kitchen is open from 12:00 until 21:00 (until 20:00 on weekdays during the winter season).

Hotel de l'Empereur Valkenburg is a perfect starting point for wonderful trips. You can take a lovely walk through the historic centre and walk to the castle ruins, the Roman catacombs or the marl caves.
