You can take lovely walks and bike rides from Hotel het Anker in Valkenburg, exploring the hills, castles, woods and meadows. Situated opposite the hotel is the Sprookjesbos fairy tale theme park and the cableway, meaning Valkenburg and the castle ruins can also be admired from above. The town centre is just 200 metres from the hotel and where you'll find lovely terraces, restaurants and shops.

Breakfast is served at the table between 8:00 and 10:00. The hotel does not have a restaurant although the centre of Valkenburg is packed with restaurants, serving specialities from all over the world. The hotel does, however, have an outdoor terrace where guests can enjoy a refreshing beer or another drink.

Valkenburg boasts many lovely and interesting attractions, such as the castle ruins, the Wilhelminatoren and the Thermae 2000 spa. Various walking routes run past Hotel het Anker, and Maastricht is just 13 kilometres from Valkenburg. This vibrant student city has a beautiful old centre with its celebrated Vrijthof square and the impressive St. Servatius Church. What's more, a trip to Aachen in Germany only takes about 30 minutes by car.
