Hotel De Linde lies on the edge of the elevated town of Vijlen, a picturesque village in Limburg with characteristic half-timbered houses and a monumental church from 1860. A tour through the surroundings leads guests along brooks, marl caves, fields, castles, and lovely villages. The hotel looks out towards the Geuldal valley, one of the most beautiful views in the Netherlands. Those who like to go shopping can pay a visit to Heerlen, Aachen, or Maastricht. In Vaals there is an outdoor go-cart racetrack. Vaals also features the 'Drielandenpunt', the point where The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet. Other places worth a visit are the antique markets in Liège or Tongeren and the nature reserves the 'Eifel' and the 'Ardennes'. In winter it is even possible to go cross-country skiing in the Ardennes.
