“My tip: Warning for every tourist not being dutch Restaurant Pieterman is a tourist trap The nice All-you-can-eat menu is only for Dutch people. As being German (even though I speek dutch) we got a menu in German with about 10 dishes (Hamburger, Schnitzel, Steak, Mexican wrap etc.) The service did not tell us about the possibility of the All-you-can-eat menu . We only got to know afterwards. Besides the waitress was very impolite. This experience of being treated like second-class-people spoile”

No razor socket in bathroom or hairdryer.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Bike rental was good price and easy to use. Location is convienent to town center and bus stop.

Big, nice looking room with good t.v. and stereo, can make hot drinks in the room, big and clean bathroom.

Check out time is very early, 10 am and as the swimmingpool only opens at 10 am it does not give you time to swim! Pool is open only from 10 to 17.00 hrs.

Autumnal week's holiday in lovely accommodation and area.

Handy location - 10 minute walk into Volendam, bus stop nearby for venturing further afield.. Liked the roof terrace, swimming pool, supermarket. Liked the Dutchness of furnishings and fixtures. Would recommend the complex to others.

Seats in room quite uncomfortable to sit on! Swimming pool hours could be better eg open at 8 or 9 am and perhaps have a short,early session for adults only, as impossible to swim when pool crowded with families. Including a small fridge in each hotel room would be excellent

“My tip: 10 Euro Waterland day ticket available to get to Amsterdam, Hoorn etc. Frequent buses from just outside the complex. Boat to Marken makes a lovely day trip on a sunny day. Lottie's on the waterfront in Volendam do wonderful apple and bacon pancakes.”

Really good choice for a Volendam Hotel !!!

This Hotel is ultra clean & tidy. Staff is friendly and most speak very good english. I really liked the grocery store on the main level.

The office closes a bit early... there is no "wifi" although you can give a deposit of 10 euro's for an internet cable. All in all I recommend this Hotel!

Check out is 10am which is took us by surprise as it's normally midday from our experience but if you know beforehand it's not a big deal.

Beautifull place to go few hickups lovely for familys and older people

Good breakfast,nice room,very personable staff.We will be coming back with the family.I could not believe my eyes when we walked round the corner and saw the marina it was beautifull.

We did not appreciate the blocking of the small top window in the middle of our holiday,unlike others we loved the morning light flooding in and when we came back,after being out for the day, our room was left OPEN.We were going to leave but decided to live with it.It would have been a real upheaval with all our kit.We did notice that all the windows were blocked,it would have been better to leave a few for choice.also for people with special needs it would be better if we could have left later around 12 oclock.I hope management could take this onboard.

Absolutely comfortable place if you have a car

The location is great if you have a car and want a quite place not far from Amsterdam

The only but EXTREMELY disturbing part of the trip was making us call three times and then wait for one hour for security to arrive to open hotel for us, we had informed about late arrival though.

Disappointing

room was very comfortable and clean. Staff friendly

no lounge area to sit in of an evening. No bar in the hotel. A lot of the hotel looks as though it is either being renovated or knocked down. It is certainly looking derelict in places. Lack of cutlery and bowls, plates etc at breakfast. It would appear that there is more emphasis on self catering for families rather than the hotel guests.

Overall, a nice place to stay...

The rooms were very large and comfortable. There was a supermarket within the hotel where the prices were very reasonable. The staff were helpful and friendly. From the hotel, you can take a nice walk between the typical Volendam houses to reach the center and harbor. There is a nice walking area around the hotel where you can enjoy the marina view, the ponds, the sea and the windmill. Overall, it was a quiet and peaceful place, ideal for a weekend away.

There was no lobby where you could sit and drink something. The breakfast was really really poor, lacking variety. There were a few spiders in the room. When we were away, we had put a "don't disturb" sign on our door, as we didn't need anything. When we came back, we found 4 towels and a toilet paper put on the floor in front of our room. I wonder how many people dry their faces or body with the towels that are placed on the floor. They could have put them in a plastic bag or something...

Is wonderful! our room was very confortable, big and clean. A little table had cups and milk, coffee, tea bags and cocoa all in monodose for to add water, is a grateful detail :) Had rent a bikes, swimming pool, lakes... perfect for familys.
