Hotel de Wereld Wageningen

Hotel details:

Hotel de Wereld Wageningen reopened in the spring of 2004 and resumed its former function of a hotel. In the past 'De Wereld' has known many different designations, the most impressive of which is that it was the backdrop for the signing of the German surrender on May 5, 1945. The hotel has been completely renovated and the modern and stylish interior now contrasts nicely with the building's historic character. The refreshing no-nonsense approach of the staff will make you feel right at home in this contemporary hotel. Hotel De Wereld can also serve as the perfect backdrop for parties and receptions, or for business meetings.

From 07:00 to 10:00h the hotel serves a breakfast in the lounge, it is partly a buffet and partly served to your table. Between 10:00 and 16:00h you may also have a cup of coffee and a piece of pie in the same lounge. It is also possible to have a light lunch here in the afternoon. Guests can also take lunch in Restaurant O Mundo on the ground floor, from 12:00 to 14:30h. The restaurant also serves dinner from 17:00 to 21:00h. Under the professional guidance of a passionate chef de cuisine, the kitchen serves its seasonal and regional specialities with pleasure and care. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. In July and August it is also closed on Mondays, but guests may enjoy a savory dinner in DrinksandBites.

Hotel de Wereld can be found in the historic city of Wageningen, near the old city of Arnhem. It is a good area to take a boat trip on the Maas and Waal rivers. Around Wageningen there are also many possibilities for a good excursion by bike or on foot, for example among the streams in the valley around Renkum. Near the town of Barneveld lies the largest shifting sands area in Europe, the Kootwijkerzand.

The spacious and comfortable rooms are decorated in contemporary style and each have a pleasant view of the historic centre of Wageningen. The rooms are equipped with al kinds of facilities, such as a television, telephone, internet connection, and an Espresso machine. All rooms have a private shower and toilet and are accessible by elevator.

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. If you wish to check in after 23:00, please contact the hotel in advance.
- OMundo Restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays during the months of July and August. From 1st September, Restaurant OMondo will be open again from Monday to Saturday. In July and August, you can book a table at 'Drinks and Bites', which is open seven days a week.

“Stylish little hotel in the center of town”
  • Stylish small hotel in the center of Wageningen. My room and bathroom were very large, and I appreciated little details like the espresso machine - with a choice of quality teas for non-coffee-drinkers - and the books and magazines to read in the room (kept me from reading too much work-related stuff).
  • The bathroom fixtures were starting to show some wear and tear.

“Excellent accomodations in a beautiful city that suited us.”
  • Large spacious room. Beautiful light. Expresso machine. Restaurant in hotel was magnificent. Service was excellent.
  • Noise from street at night despite being a very quiet area.
